Garmin introduces eco-friendly Descent X30 dive computer with large vivid display

Garmin launches the Descent X30, an eco-friendly dive computer with a bright 2.4-inch display and advanced safety features for recreational divers.

Garmin Singapore has launched the Descent X30, a large-format dive computer built to help recreational divers explore with greater confidence. The new device combines an eco-conscious build with advanced underwater navigation features.

The Descent X30 stands out with a vibrant 2.4-inch display designed for easy viewing in low-light conditions underwater. Its housing and bezel are made entirely from recycled ocean-bound plastics, reflecting Garmin’s sustainability goals. The rugged build also includes large leakproof metal buttons, a 10 ATM dive rating and up to 30 hours of battery life, making it suitable for extended underwater adventures.

Mr Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager of Garmin Asia, said, “We understand how important it is for recreational divers to have a large, bright display that is easy to read while below the surface. The Descent X30 does just that with a rugged design, vivid screen and essential dive features; it’s the perfect companion for those who enjoy taking in the beauty of the underwater world.”

Enhanced underwater awareness and navigation

The Descent X30 introduces new NDL Aware depth metrics that help divers understand how depth changes affect their no-decompression limit in real time. This insight allows for safer, longer dives. It also features a dynamic depth chart that displays a live graph of depth and provides a projected ascent plan, including required safety or decompression stops.

Divers can use audible and vibration alerts to stay aware of their depth and time, while a three-axis digital compass supports accurate underwater navigation. Surface GPS enables users to locate dive sites easily and review dive data through the Garmin Dive app after surfacing.

For those exploring beyond recreational limits, the Descent X30 supports multi-gas dive profiles, including trimix. When paired with an inReach satellite communicator and dive case, divers can also trigger an SOS message from the surface in emergencies.

Built with sustainability and versatility in mind

Garmin has placed emphasis on eco-friendly design by using 100 per cent recycled ocean-bound plastics for the device’s housing and bezel. A flip-screen mode lets users adjust the button orientation to match their gear setup, making the device easier to handle underwater, even with gloves.

The Descent X30 will be available in Singapore from October 2025 through Garmin Brand Stores, Lazada, Shopee, the Garmin Online Store, and authorised dive retailers. It is priced at S$979.

Garmin continues to expand its range of wearables and outdoor technology, aiming to help people live healthier and more active lives through innovation.
