Sharp introduces energy-efficient washing machines with exclusive no-holes tub technology

Sharp launches new energy-saving No-Holes Tub washing machines in Singapore, combining quiet operation with water and fabric care innovation.

Sharp has unveiled its latest range of No-Holes Tub Top Load Washing Machines, bringing enhanced efficiency and fabric-friendly performance to everyday laundry. The new line-up includes three models — the 8.5kg ES-W85TWXT-SA2, 9.5kg ES-W95TWXT-SA2 and 10.5kg ES-W105TWXT-SA2 — each designed to reduce water and energy use while improving cleaning results.

Sharp’s No-Holes Tub Technology, a feature refined over more than 30 years, eliminates the perforations found in conventional drums. This design prevents water from seeping out, minimises dirt and mould buildup, and reduces fabric wear. The company has sold over 12 million No-Holes Tub washing machines in Japan, making it a cornerstone of its home appliance innovation.

Eco-friendly and quiet performance

All three models have earned a 4-tick energy efficiency rating, qualifying them for Singapore’s Climate Vouchers scheme. Households can expect up to 42% energy savings and 30% less water consumption compared with traditional washing machines. These improvements not only lower utility bills but also help reduce environmental impact.

The machines use Sharp’s J-Tech Inverter technology to control motor performance with precision, cutting energy use and keeping noise levels low. At just 42 decibels during spinning and 31 decibels while washing, the appliances are quiet enough for night-time operation without disrupting the household.

Designed for modern living

Sharp has introduced features to make everyday laundry faster and easier. The Quick Wash cycle cleans lightly soiled clothes in 20 minutes, while the Add Laundry function on the 9.5kg and 10.5kg models lets users pause mid-cycle to include forgotten items. The machines automatically adjust wash time and water levels to ensure consistent cleaning.

The drum design is inspired by nature, using dolphin- and whale-inspired textures to optimise water flow and reduce friction, helping to protect fabrics and limit mould. Other user-friendly details include eight wash programs, antibacterial coatings on key plastic parts and touch panels, and a tempered glass lid with soft-close functionality.

Availability and pricing

The new No-Holes Tub Top Load Washing Machines are now available across major retailers in Singapore, including Best Denki, Courts, Harvey Norman, Audiohouse, Gaincity, Mega Discount, and online through Sharp’s e-store, Shopee and Lazada. Prices start at S$635 for the 8.5kg model, S$688 for the 9.5kg model and S$740 for the 10.5kg model.

With this launch, Sharp reinforces its position as a leader in innovative, eco-friendly home appliances. Combining Japanese engineering with thoughtful design, the company aims to make laundry simpler, quieter and more sustainable for today’s households.
