Hitachi Vantara and BMC team up to enhance mainframe modernisation, reducing costs, improving security, and streamlining operations for hybrid cloud environments.

Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has announced a strategic alliance with BMC Software to optimise and modernise mainframe and open systems environments. By combining Hitachi Vantara’s advanced storage solutions with BMC’s software expertise, the partnership aims to help businesses reduce costs, enhance security, and improve operational efficiency.

As more organisations shift to hybrid cloud models, managing data effectively has become a critical challenge. According to a recent Forrester study, 66% of companies are focused on upgrading their mainframe infrastructure as part of broader modernisation efforts. Additionally, 96% of IT leaders believe these upgrades will provide long-term benefits. The collaboration between Hitachi Vantara and BMC is designed to address key concerns such as data security, operational costs, and seamless integration across on-premises and cloud environments.

This partnership introduces a suite of solutions tailored for hybrid cloud environments, bringing together BMC’s AMI mainframe software with Hitachi Vantara’s Virtual Storage Platform One and Hitachi Content Platform (HCP).
