Josys introduces AI-powered risk analyser and automation workflows to enhance IT security and governance

Josys launches AI-powered risk analyser and identity workflows to improve SaaS governance, security, and operational efficiency for IT teams.

Josys announced a major upgrade to its platform, including the launch of the AI-powered SaaS Risk Analyzer and two new identity management workflows. These updates are designed to support IT departments in streamlining operations, improving security, and reducing manual workloads.

AI-enhanced visibility for SaaS and AI applications

As organisations adopt more cloud applications and AI tools, IT departments often struggle to maintain oversight. To address this, Josys has introduced a proprietary SaaS Risk Analyzer that automatically generates security and compliance insights for every discovered application. Built on Josys AI, the tool gathers and analyses data from public sources, open databases, and vendor attributes to assign a Security Score (ranging from 0 to 100) and a Risk Level Assessment (Low, Medium, or High) for each app.

The tool also evaluates whether apps share data with third-party generative AI vendors or use customer data to train AI models, providing greater transparency over the potential risks of unsanctioned tool usage. Additionally, it includes contextual information such as single sign-on (SSO) support, compliance certifications, and data protection policies.

These features are available for apps discovered through Josys’ shadow IT detection capabilities, but the Risk Analyzer also supports manual search and evaluation. This makes it useful not only for IT, but also for procurement and finance teams who need to assess new tools during purchasing or renewal processes.

“IT teams need smarter, faster, and more automated ways to manage risk and deliver value,” said Mahabaleshwar Bhat, Chief Product Officer of Josys. “By utilising the power of Josys AI to retrieve and analyse information about discovered apps, we can arm IT teams with instantaneous risk intelligence that would have previously taken weeks or even months to acquire. These insights will create a new paradigm for more effective decision-making and tighter SaaS governance.”

Streamlined identity lifecycle with automation

To further reduce the administrative burden on IT teams, Josys has introduced two new automation workflows focused on identity lifecycle management. The Automated Onboarding Workflow allows IT to assign apps and permissions to new employees based on attributes such as department, location, or employment type. Access to core tools is provisioned by default, while role-specific apps are automatically granted, ensuring new hires have what they need from day one—without errors or delays.

The second feature, the Automated Access Review Workflow, enables immediate updates to user permissions based on survey responses. For example, if a user indicates they no longer need a tool, access is automatically removed. If unapproved usage is confirmed, a valid licence can be assigned under IT’s governance—again, without any manual work.

These identity workflows not only reduce errors and save time but also help IT departments maintain tighter control over software access and user privileges across the organisation.

Greater control and operational efficiency

Alongside the risk analysis and workflow automation updates, Josys has introduced several platform enhancements to improve visibility, incident response, and device control.

A new Audit Log Dashboard helps IT teams track user and application activity across the Josys platform, speeding up incident resolution and supporting compliance reporting.

With a new Jira Service Management integration, administrators can now create Jira tickets directly within Josys. This allows organisations to incorporate Josys’ recommended actions into their existing support workflows, improving operational alignment across platforms.

Josys has also expanded its device management capabilities. Through its integration with Microsoft Intune and Jamf, IT teams can remotely lock or wipe devices, offering better data protection during offboarding, loss, or reassignment. In addition, employees can request new hardware through the Josys Self-Service Portal, streamlining internal hardware inventory processes.

These latest enhancements reinforce Josys’ position as a comprehensive SaaS management solution focused on helping IT teams simplify governance and scale securely in a cloud-first environment.
