Razer unveils upgraded BlackShark V3 Pro headset with active noise cancellation and low-latency wireless

Razer’s new BlackShark V3 Pro headset features ANC, ultra-low latency, and upgraded drivers for serious cross-platform gamers.

Razer has announced the launch of its latest gaming headset series, the BlackShark V3 lineup, aimed at esports professionals and serious gamers. The new series includes three models: the flagship BlackShark V3 Pro, the mid-tier BlackShark V3, and the entry-level BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed. All three headsets are compatible across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms, offering a range of features to suit different budgets and preferences.

The standout model, the BlackShark V3 Pro, introduces significant upgrades to the series. For the first time, it incorporates Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to reduce external distractions. It also comes equipped with Razer’s second-generation HyperSpeed Wireless technology, which delivers ultra-low latency audio performance of just 10 milliseconds. This level of responsiveness is designed to ensure that audio cues match the on-screen action with near-instant precision, which is especially critical for competitive gameplay.

The BlackShark V3 Pro uses a four-microphone system for its ANC, aiming to block out a wide range of background noise, from keyboard clicks to environmental disturbances like construction work. A button on the headset allows users to switch between ANC On, Ambient mode, and ANC Off, providing varying levels of noise filtering tailored to situational needs.

New drivers and improved microphone technology

The latest model also features Razer’s newly developed TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50mm drivers. These drivers replace the titanium diaphragms used in previous models, aiming to deliver more precise and more natural sound reproduction with reduced harmonic distortion. The use of bio-cellulose is intended to enhance sound quality, particularly in terms of spatial awareness and directional accuracy, which is vital for hearing footsteps, gun reloads, and other subtle in-game sounds.

Another major update is the detachable 12mm HyperClear Full Band microphone, which now features a unidirectional pickup pattern. This is expected to significantly improve voice clarity by better isolating the speaker’s voice from ambient noise. The microphone supports a sampling rate of up to 48kHz, providing high-fidelity voice transmission for in-game communication and streaming.

The BlackShark V3 Pro supports four connectivity options: 2.4 GHz HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-A, and a 3.5mm audio jack. One of its notable features is the ability to stream dual audio simultaneously through both Bluetooth and HyperSpeed Wireless, allowing users to hear game audio while managing calls or listening to music from a separate device.

Gamers seeking advanced sound personalisation can utilise Razer Synapse 4, which supports up to nine onboard EQ profiles. This includes a selection of twelve professionally tuned presets created in collaboration with competitive first-person shooter players. The headset also supports THX Spatial Audio on PC, Tempest 3D Audio on PlayStation, and Windows Sonic on Xbox.

The BlackShark V3 Pro is rated for up to 70 hours of battery life when used with a 2.4GHz connection on PC and up to 48 hours on console. The headset is designed with comfort in mind, featuring dual-layered FlowKnit memory foam cushions to support prolonged gaming sessions.

Alongside the Pro version, Razer has also introduced the BlackShark V3 and the BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed. The mid-range BlackShark V3 comes with TriForce Titanium 50mm Drivers Gen-2, THX Spatial Audio, and a HyperClear Superwide Band microphone. It also supports HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, and up to nine onboard EQ profiles.

The entry-level BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed is equipped with TriForce 50mm Drivers Gen-2, 7.1 Surround Sound, and a HyperClear Cardioid microphone. Like the other two models, it offers multiple connectivity options.

The key differences between the three headsets lie in the inclusion of ANC, the type of microphone used, and the support for virtual surround sound technologies.

Pricing and availability in Singapore

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is priced at S$379 and is available from the official Razer Store as well as online platforms such as Shopee and Lazada. The BlackShark V3 retails for S$229, while the BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed is priced at S$149. Both the V3 and V3 Pro are offered in black and white colour variants, whereas the V3 X HyperSpeed is available exclusively in black.
