Lenovo tops Gartner’s Asia Pacific supply chain rankings for fourth year

Lenovo retains No.1 in Asia Pacific’s top supply chains for 2025, driven by AI innovation, global expansion, and circular sustainability efforts.

Lenovo has once again claimed the top position in the Gartner Asia Pacific Supply Chain Top 10 for 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year it has led the region in supply chain performance. The recognition highlights Lenovo’s continued strength in innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

The annual ranking by Gartner celebrates companies that excel in adapting their supply chain networks to support business growth, integrating technology to drive resilience, and advancing sustainability through circular practices. Lenovo also made notable progress on the global stage, rising to No.8 in Gartner’s Global Supply Chain Top 25 for 2025, two spots higher than the previous year.

Expanding operations to strengthen supply chain resilience

Lenovo’s global supply chain spans 180 markets and includes over 30 manufacturing sites in 11 countries. This broad footprint allows the company to respond quickly to shifts in the global market while maintaining high levels of service and operational flexibility.

The company has announced plans to expand its manufacturing presence to Saudi Arabia. This move aims to better serve customers across the Middle East and Africa (MEA), improve delivery timelines, and tap into emerging market growth. The investment is part of Lenovo’s strategy to bolster resilience and regional agility, especially in response to increasing geopolitical and economic volatility.

Lenovo’s ability to adapt quickly has been key to maintaining its leadership position in Asia Pacific and gaining ground globally. According to Gartner’s evaluation, the company has consistently demonstrated strong performance across all measured criteria, including innovation, customer service, and sustainability.

Leveraging AI for smarter supply chain operations

A central pillar of Lenovo’s supply chain transformation is its internal strategy, “Lenovo Powers Lenovo,” which focuses on applying the company’s own technology and infrastructure to enhance performance. This includes a growing emphasis on artificial intelligence, which is now integrated across multiple aspects of Lenovo’s operations.

The company has developed an AI-driven tool that offers real-time visibility across the supply chain. The system alerts users to disruptions, such as congested shipping lanes, and automatically analyses the impact, evaluates available alternatives, and recommends the most efficient course of action. This not only improves decision-making but also enhances supply chain responsiveness.

“It’s an honour to be named No.1 in Asia Pacific for the fourth year and moving up in the global rankings is a powerful validation of our efforts to build a smarter, more resilient supply chain,” said Amar Babu, President of Lenovo Asia Pacific. “From AI-powered tools to sustainable logistics, our innovations are helping customers and partners gain an operational edge in a dynamic world.”

Leading the way in sustainable supply chain practices

Sustainability remains a key focus for supply chain leaders across the Asia Pacific region, and Lenovo has continued to lead in this area through its circular innovation efforts. The company has incorporated recycled materials into over 298 product lines, including using carbon fibre sourced from aircraft manufacturing by-products.

In packaging, Lenovo has adopted environmentally friendly alternatives such as bamboo and sugar cane-based materials. These changes reflect the company’s broader commitment to responsible product design and reducing environmental impact.

In addition to topping the Asia Pacific rankings, Lenovo also secured third place in the Gartner High Tech Top 10 list as part of the 2025 Supply Chain Top 25 and Masters report, further underscoring its industry leadership.
