Samsung’s Exynos W1000 chip to power the new Galaxy Watch7 series

Samsung is set to unveil its latest innovation in smartwatch technology at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10. The tech giant recently announced the Exynos W1000, a new processor designed for its upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 series. This processor marks a significant leap forward, the first from Samsung to be built using a 3nm process node.

Advanced performance and efficiency

The Exynos W1000 is equipped with a single ARM Cortex-A78 core and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores, which results in a substantial boost in performance. Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos W930, the new chip offers up to 3.4 times better single-core performance and up to 3.7 times better multi-core performance. These enhancements translate to smoother and faster operation in daily use.

One of the most notable improvements is the speed at which the Exynos W1000 can launch critical applications. Samsung claims that apps open up to 2.7 times faster than on the previous chip. This speed boost makes toggling between apps a more seamless experience, enhancing overall usability.

Enhanced display and heat management

The Exynos W1000 also incorporates advanced Fan-Out Panel-Level Packaging (FOPLP) technology. This innovation helps manage heat dissipation more effectively, ensuring the watch remains cool even during intensive use. Furthermore, the chip features a 2.5D always-on-display engine, which allows for higher-quality watch faces and a superior display experience.

With these advancements, the Exynos W1000 promises improved performance and a better visual experience, making your smartwatch more responsive and appealing.

Set to debut in the Galaxy Watch7 lineup
