Singapore-based online office marketplace, GorillaSpace, has bagged undisclosed seed funding in a round led by Japanese real estate developer, Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. (MEC). A consortium of investors, including Singapore-based interactive media company, Silversea Media Group, have also participated.

GorillaSpace is the first office marketplace startup outside of Japan to receive the funding from MEC, as well as the first seed investment by the developer.

The startup plans to leverage on the seed funding to focus on growth by boosting partnerships to triple the number of verified listings.

Founded in 2018, GorillaSpace offers a new and exciting way to showcase office spaces and help businesses find workspaces more efficiently. They provide online tools for businesses to more easily find and lease office space, coworking spaces, and serviced offices.

This funding comes a year after the startup’s graduation from Propell Asia in November 2018, a proptech accelerator program run by both JLL and Lendlease.
