Supermom secures S$18 million Series B funding for AI-driven expansion

Supermom secures S$18 million funding led by Granite Asia to boost AI capabilities and expand across Southeast Asia, with support from major investors.

Supermom, a data platform headquartered in Singapore and designed specifically for mothers, has successfully raised S$18 million in a Series B funding round. This latest funding effort includes backing from returning investors AC Ventures and Qualgro, with Granite Asia leading the round, along with Hearst Ventures.

This investment marks Supermom’s second major funding round in less than two years. The company previously secured S$8 million in Series A funding in December 2022, which was led by Qualgro. The swift progress highlights Supermom’s ongoing influence as an AI-powered platform that connects brands to families and communities, while providing valuable insights into consumer preferences.

Supermom, founded by Joan Ong along with CEO Luke Lim and Chief of Staff Rebecca Koh, has established itself as a significant player in Southeast Asia’s parenting sector. The platform now reaches over 10 million parents, facilitating connections and offering insights across more than 6,000 online communities. Its clientele includes over 250 brands, from global names such as AIA, Kimberly-Clark, Abbott Laboratories, and Unilever to local giants like Mandiri, Indofood, and Wings Group. Supermom also empowers mothers by providing income-generating opportunities in exchange for their insights and user-generated content, helping them support their families.

Funding to expand AI capabilities and regional footprint

With this new funding, Supermom plans to deepen its AI capabilities, supporting its ambitious goal to become the largest AI-driven consumer data platform for brands in Southeast Asia. The company intends to use the investment to drive innovation, expand its team, and enhance its product offerings. Supermom’s primary focus is to strengthen connections between brands and consumers, benefiting families across the region.

Expressing gratitude towards investors, CEO Luke Lim shared, “We are grateful to our investors – both new and returning – for believing in our vision and extending their support. As a company, we remain committed to building the largest AI-driven data platform in Southeast Asia connecting brands and consumers. Our track record in the last four years of scaling the business by focusing on our core solutions and core clients has helped us build a solid foundation for growth. We are thrilled to have Granite lead this investment round. With their extensive global experience in transforming tech startups into industry leaders, we are confident in the future growth and impact of our business.”

Granite Asia’s Managing Partner Jenny Lee echoed Lim’s enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Supermom as they build the largest AI-driven data platform in Southeast Asia connecting brands and consumers. At Granite Asia, we believe in supporting companies that positively impact communities, and Supermom’s vision of empowering parents across Southeast Asia to live better and smarter aligns with our values. We look forward to helping accelerate their growth and expand their reach across the region.”

Global investors praise Supermom’s growth potential

Supermom’s continued progress in the Southeast Asian market has drawn support from investors who see significant potential in the platform. Katie Hu, Managing Director of Hearst Ventures, commented, “We were impressed by the way in which the Supermom platform has delivered significant business growth for brands, while enhancing parenthood experiences for mothers and families. Its expanding footprint in the Southeast Asia region makes it an attractive company to watch out for. We are looking forward to working with the Supermom leadership to unleash their ambitions for the region.”

Qualgro’s Partner, Weisheng Neo, also highlighted their commitment to Supermom, noting, “As an AI and data investor, our confidence in Supermom’s team stems from our strong working relationship that has led to accelerated growth and outstanding products. We have been impressed by the speed and dedication for building an advanced data platform.”

AC Ventures has also been instrumental in Supermom’s growth, especially in Indonesia, where the platform launched Project 1MPACT. Adrian Li, Founder and Managing Partner at AC Ventures, commented, “We have seen the Supermom business in Indonesia grow significantly in the last one year, with the launch of Project 1MPACT and onboarding of new agencies and brands. We are excited to be a part of their growth journey in Southeast Asia’s largest and fastest growing market.”

With a solid foundation and strong investor backing, Supermom is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory, further empowering mothers and families while creating value for brands across Southeast Asia.
