Taiwan-based healthtech startup, iWEECARE, secured US$1 million in a pre-series A round led by Singapore’s Verge HealthTech Fund, alongside with Translink Capital and Darwin Venture.

Also, the startup has also received regulatory approval to market its product, Temp Pal®, which it claims to be the world’s smallest smart thermometer, in both the European Union and Taiwan. It’s a comprehensive and convenient wireless body temperature tracking device that provides real-time monitoring combined with smart alerts, seeking to disrupt the healthcare market. The patented stamp-sized soft, flexible patch consists of a high-performance temperature sensor with a battery life of 2-3 days. It also has a Bluetooth® radio to transmit body data to a secure cloud through its mobile app, generating real-time charts and alerts. The wearable solution can also be used in hospitals and clinics as it offers centralized tracking and analytics from multiple devices.

iWEECARE aims to use the new funds to help is global expansion efforts and seeking to disrupt a market forecast to reach US$1.5 billion by 2025, which is currently dominated by digital pen and in-ear thermometers.
