The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 prototype features a new, squared-off design

Discover the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 prototype with a new squared-off design, expected specs, and a potential price increase.

Insights into the potential appearance of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 are now available. Leaked images from the reputable source, Ice Universe, depict a Z Fold 6 prototype with sharper edges and subtle alterations to its camera design, in line with a report by 9to5Google.

Design changes and comparisons

The dummy model of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 showcases a boxy design with black rings around each rear camera sensor, a departure from the previous silver design. These images, consistent with earlier leaked marketing materials and renders, present a new, squared-off look. The comparison images from Ice Universe offer a clear view of how the Galaxy Z Fold 6 differs from the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Rumoured specifications and performance

According to leaked specifications shared by Smartprix, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 might not differ much from its predecessor in terms of specifications. It’s expected to feature the same 120Hz OLED 7.6-inch display when unfolded, with a slight increase in the cover display size from 6.2 inches to 6.3 inches.

Prepare to be excited about the potential performance of the device. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is rumoured to be equipped with an upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. The camera setup is expected to remain unchanged, with a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. These specs hint at a powerful device with a versatile camera system.

Price and release expectations

Rest assured, you won’t have to wait too long to get all the details. Samsung is likely to unveil its upcoming devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th. Despite the minimal changes, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 might see a price increase. Leaks suggest that it could start at US$1,899.99, which is US$100 more than the starting price of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
