Updated BMW iX lands in Singapore with fresh look and tech upgrades

The updated BMW iX arrives in Singapore with fresh design touches, new tech, and free charging perks for EV lovers.

BMW has just introduced the updated version of its mid-size electric SUV, the iX, to Singapore. If you’re in the market for a luxurious and high-tech EV, this could be what you’re looking for. The facelift brings some thoughtful changes that improve both style and comfort without changing what makes the iX stand out in the first place.

Sleek new design with subtle updates

At first glance, the iX still looks like the model you’re used to seeing, but a closer look will show you what’s changed. BMW has reshaped the kidney grilles and added a glowing LED outline that shines brightly in the dark. The bumpers and headlights have also been redesigned, giving the iX a cleaner and more modern appearance.

You can choose between two trims—Sport and M Sport. The Sport version has a more refined and calm look, while the M Sport has a bolder design, including larger 21-inch M Sport wheels. Either trim will give you a well-balanced mix of elegance and presence.

Even though the changes are subtle, they make a noticeable difference when seen in person. The new version still looks like an iX, but if you’ve seen the earlier model, you can tell this is the refreshed version.

New tech inside and improved driving power

Step inside, and you’ll notice updates to the cabin, too. The infotainment system now runs on BMW’s latest Operating System 8.5. This brings new features such as video streaming and even in-car gaming—great for waiting during a charging session.

Under the bonnet, the iX is available with the xDrive45 powertrain. That gives you 402 horsepower and 700Nm of torque, enough to take the car from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds. Considering this SUV weighs over 2,500kg, that’s pretty impressive for a vehicle this size.

Unfortunately, BMW has no plans to bring the higher-powered xDrive60 or M70 xDrive versions to Singapore. Still, with a 94.8kWh battery, this iX can travel up to 602km on a single charge according to the WLTP standard, which is more than enough for most daily drives and even longer road trips.

Pricing, availability, and charging perks

The updated BMW iX is available now in Singapore. Prices start at S$451,888 for the Sport trim and S$473,888 for the M Sport version. These prices include COE.

When you buy the iX, you can also choose between two charging packages. You can opt for a home charging bundle with a free BMW wall charger with installation or the Shell Recharge public charging plan. With the Shell plan, you can charge your iX for free for up to three years (up to 10,000kWh with no monthly limit) at Shell Recharge stations across the island.

If you want to see the new iX in person, it will be displayed at The Lawn at New Bahru until June 8. It’s a great chance to check out the updated features and get a feel for the car before deciding.
