Videotto, an AI-driven video automation startup co-founded by students from Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), has secured venture capital funding to accelerate its next stage of growth.
The startup, which originated from a joint polytechnic collaboration, uses artificial intelligence to transform long-form videos such as live streams, podcasts, and interviews into short, high-performing social media clips. This technology enables creators, agencies, and live stream sellers to multiply their content output without expanding their editing teams.
Empowering creators through AI automation
Led by Tay Yao Ming from SP’s Diploma in Engineering with Business and Ian Lee from NP’s Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering, the team also includes AI specialists Felix Isaac Lim from SP’s Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics and Chong Kah Hian from SP’s Diploma in Information & Technology. Together, they developed a platform capable of converting hours of footage into ready-to-post social content within minutes.
Videotto has already gained industry recognition, having won several awards, including the 2024 SP Batey Challenge, the 2025 Echelon Top100 Under SP, and the 2025 POL-ITE Entrepreneurship Challenge under NP. It has also received pre-seed funding support from both SP and NP, helping it progress from a student project to a fast-growing startup.
Strong institutional support for student innovation
Ms Tan Yen Yen, Senior Director of SP’s Business Creatives cluster and Director of Industry & Partnerships, commended the team’s success, saying, “We are proud of the Videotto team for their remarkable achievements and innovative spirit. Their journey reflects SP’s strong support for student startups, from mentorships to seed funding, and our commitment to helping young founders turn bold ideas into real impact. We wish the team continued success as they grow their venture.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mrs Pang-Eng Peck Hong, Director of The Sandbox, NP’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship office, highlighted the collaborative nature of the initiative. She said, “Videotto’s journey reflects the shared vision among polytechnics in Singapore to nurture an ecosystem where student entrepreneurs can thrive and grow together. At Ngee Ann Polytechnic, we are proud to have supported Videotto through The Sandbox’s Kickstart funding and to see their success further propelled by this new VC investment. This milestone affirms the collective strength of inter-polytechnic collaboration in shaping Singapore’s next generation of innovators.”
Expanding global reach through new funding
With the new round of venture capital funding, Videotto plans to further enhance its AI capabilities and scale its platform to serve a global audience. The company aims to empower a new generation of video creators by making video editing faster and more accessible.
Videotto envisions becoming the creative backbone for the next 100 million video creators worldwide. Rather than replacing human editors, the startup’s mission is to empower them with tools that streamline workflows and amplify creative output, positioning itself as a key enabler in the evolving landscape of AI-assisted content creation.
