WhatsApp is working on a feature to let you add social media profile links

WhatsApp is testing a feature that lets you add social media profile links to your account, improving integration with Instagram and other platforms.

WhatsApp is testing a new feature allowing you to add links to your social media profiles within your account. This move will integrate the instant messaging platform with other social networks.

WaBetaInfo first spotted the feature in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 25.3.10.72). It introduces a new section under the profile settings where you can add social media links. If you choose to use this feature, you will also have the option to control who can see your social media profile links through WhatsApp’s privacy settings.

Currently, Instagram is the only supported platform, but reports suggest that more social media platforms could be added in the future.

A step towards deeper integration with Meta’s platforms

Last month, Meta rolled out an update that lets you share WhatsApp status updates directly to Instagram and Facebook. The ability to link social media profiles within WhatsApp appears to be another step in enhancing connectivity across Meta’s major platforms—Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

This change aligns with Meta’s broader strategy of creating a seamless experience between its apps, making it easier for users to switch between platforms and stay connected. While WhatsApp has always been a private messaging app, adding social media profile links could make it a more interactive space where users can engage with their wider digital presence.

What this means for WhatsApp users

If this feature rolls out to all users, it will provide a convenient way to share your social media presence without manually sending profile links. Whether for personal connections or business networking, it could be a useful addition for many WhatsApp users.

Since this feature is still in beta testing, it is unclear when it will be officially released. However, given Meta’s recent efforts to enhance cross-platform integration, it is likely to be introduced in a future update.
