Arlo announces partnership with Origin AI to enhance smart home security

Arlo partners with Origin AI to deliver cutting-edge AI-powered home security, integrating exclusive technologies like TruShield and Allos.

Arlo Technologies, a leader in smart home security, has revealed a strategic partnership with Origin AI to introduce innovative, AI-powered security solutions. This collaboration makes Arlo the exclusive global provider of Origin AI’s advanced AI Sensing technology, which promises to revolutionise home and business security.

Exclusive rights to advanced AI technology

Under the agreement, Arlo gains exclusive worldwide rights to Origin AI’s groundbreaking technologies, TruShield and Allos. These systems use radio frequency (RF) signals from existing WiFi devices to detect verified human presence. The partnership aims to improve accuracy, reduce false alarms, and provide a straightforward security solution for internet service providers and other businesses.

Arlo plans to integrate these technologies into its future offerings, complementing its suite of AI-driven security solutions. These include motion detection, video monitoring, and professional monitoring with video verification, powered by Arlo Intelligence.

“Arlo has been continuously investing for over 10 years in AI- and CV-powered security technologies that enable customers to feel safer, react faster and enjoy greater peace of mind with 24/7 protection from Arlo Secure,” said Matthew McRae, CEO of Arlo Technologies. “With today’s announcement, we are excited to add Origin’s AI Sensing capabilities to create a new integrated AI-powered security offering that will be unmatched in its intelligence and performance.”

Spencer Maid, CEO of Origin AI, echoed this enthusiasm, stating, “By combining Arlo’s leadership in smart home security with Origin’s cutting-edge AI Sensing technologies, we are delivering unparalleled solutions to redefine how people protect their homes and businesses. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to innovation and customer security.”

New features in Arlo Secure 5

The latest version of Arlo Secure, known as Arlo Secure 5, leverages computer vision AI to offer detailed alerts, enabling users to respond quickly and effectively to security concerns. Some of the advanced features include:

  • Person recognition: Receive personalised alerts with names from your library of identified faces.
  • Vehicle recognition: Protect your driveway with alerts for known vehicles you’ve named.
  • Custom detection: Train the AI to recognise specific objects or changes, such as open garage doors or pets on furniture.
  • Fire detection: Get real-time notifications in case of fire for immediate action.

These features aim to provide users with comprehensive insights, enabling proactive protection for their homes and loved ones.

A shared vision for smarter security

This collaboration builds on the shared vision of Arlo and Origin AI to enhance safety using AI-powered innovation. Their combined expertise in smart home security and AI sensing technologies sets the stage for a new era in security solutions.

Further updates about the partnership and integrated products are expected later this year.
