Asus launches a laptop with a built-in perfume dispenser

Asus launches the unique Adol Book 14 laptop with a built-in perfume dispenser, offering impressive specs and a touch of fragrance.

You might think you’ve seen it all in the world of laptops, but Asus has come up with something unique. The recently launched Adol Book 14 isn’t just any ordinary laptop. At first glance, it looks similar to the Zenbook 14 OLED that Asus already offers, but with a lovely new lilac colour option. However, what sets it apart is the perfume dispenser built into the lid.

A collaboration with Anna Sui

Adol Book 14 results from a collaboration between Asus and the beauty brand Anna Sui. This partnership is evident in several design features. You’ll notice etched edges on the corner of the trackpad, a butterfly motif on the vital deck, and a small logo engraved on the laptop’s lid. Even the space bar has a unique touch with “Live Your Dream” etched. While these details are delightful, the perfume pod in the lid is undoubtedly the main attraction.

Asus has made a few different scents available for the perfume pod. The pods resemble those used in scented air purifiers. They don’t have a fan to disperse the scent, so they release it naturally over time. You can easily replace the pod in the lid, designed separately from the laptop’s aluminium body.

Impressive specs

Beyond the unique perfume feature, the Adol Book 14 is a powerful laptop. It’s essentially a Zenbook 14 OLED, priced at just under US$1,000. It boasts an AMD Ryzen 9 8945H processor, 1 TB of storage, and 32 GB of memory. The display is a 2.8K OLED with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Along with the laptop, you get a branded mouse, a carrying bag, and a bottle of Anna Sui’s Wishing Elf perfume.

Availability

However, don’t expect to see Adol Book 14 widely available. Based on the current conversion rate, Asus is currently offering it for presale exclusively in China for about US$969. If you’re keen on the specs but not the perfume dispenser, you can opt for the Zenbook 14 OLED or upgrade to the new Zenbook S 16. Both models are highly regarded as some of the best laptops available today.
