BenQ TK700STi: 4K Gaming projector with lowest input lag

A solid choice for gamers looking for 4K experience with low input lag

If you’re a gamer, projectors may give you an even more immersive experience by taking your favorite digital distraction away from your TV and projecting it onto a wall at a massive scale.

Because of the advent of short-throw projectors, even if space is restricted where there isn’t much space between the projector and the wall, you can still receive up to 100-inches of projection. Therefore, throw distance is always something that you’ll need to consider, depending on the size of the room that you’re gaming in.

With its new TK700STi 4K gaming projector, BenQ, the world’s No. 1 DLP projector brand, has introduced a brand-new gaming projector niche.

Projection System: DLP
Resolution: 4K UHD (3840 x 2160)
Contrast Ratio: 10,000 : 1
Throw Ratio: 0.9 ~ 1.08
Zoom Ratio: 1.2x
Input Lag: 16 ms (4K@60Hz) on Fast Mode
Speaker: TreVolo 5W
Inputs: HDMI, USB Type A, RS232 in
Dimensions: 312 x110 x246 mm

The TK700STi is designed with gamers in mind, powered by Android TV, that offers users an unprecedented combination of 4K resolution and 16ms reduced input lag for a premium all-in-one entertainment hub without sacrificing performance.

Clean and stylish design

TK700STi - 16

The BenQ TK700STi is stylish without being flashy, which is precisely how it should be. The company takes a fundamental approach, with a clean white shell, a black front, and no other frills. If you’re going to move it around a lot, the plastic casing seems strong enough, and it’s light enough that it won’t be a nuisance.

A single 5W speaker, powered by BenQ’s unique CinemaMaster Audio+2, is built inside its 312 x 110 x 246mm chassis and produces excellent sounds. This powerful built-in 5W audio gives compelling audiovisual experiences, with bespoke Cinema, Music, Sports, and Game modes.

At the top of the projector are analog zoom and focus dials and the remainder of the user interface: the power button, a directional pad for navigating the system’s menus, and a few fast access buttons for selecting display modes or triggering the Eco Blank functionality. The zoom and focus settings, on the other hand, allow for a great deal of precision and stop solidly in the right spot.

All sockets are neatly tucked away in the rear, leaving the front clear except the light source. There are two HDMI 2.0 connectors, an RS-232 port, a 3.5mm audio out, and a single USB port for connectivity. You’ll need to install the BenQ Android TV dongle manually, which includes removing one screw from a protrusion on the back of the device and attaching the dongle to a concealed USB port inside.

Because the buttons on the unit might be unpleasant to use and require very hard presses to activate, this model comes with remote control, which is highly welcomed.

Uncompromised 4K gaming

The 4K HDR TK700STi gaming projector is needed if you want the best audiovisual gaming quality. The TK700STi is the “world’s first 4K HDR gaming projector; 4K @ 60Hz,” according to BenQ, and it “games with 16ms lowest input lag ever paired with 4K resolution.”

TK700STi - 5

Thanks to a professionally designed engine that shows incredible detail, depth, and object separation, the image will be stunning, allowing you to see the finer aspects of your games in cinematic clarity. Expect uncompromised 4K gaming, 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness, and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio for excellent black levels in all game genres.

TK700STi - 9

Most of the projectors in the market require four or five feet of area to cast an image, which is more than enough for most living rooms. If you live in a dorm or a small studio apartment, though, you’ll have to be even more resourceful with your space. BenQ’s ultra-short-throw projector is here to assist. It enables worry-free enjoyment with no location restrictions or setup hassles, requiring only a 6.5ft (1.99m) distance. It also has digital rotational adjustment for projection versatility, delivering up to 150″ 4K image even on uneven surfaces.

Exclusively tailored Game Modes

The numerous Game Modes that the new BenQ gaming projectors are reported to offer are something we’re looking forward to testing in greater depth. Of course, a ‘dedicated mode’ concept isn’t entirely new; it was already offered on the TK800M (featuring Football and Sport Mode).

With its exclusively customized FPS, RPG, and SPG game modes, the BenQ TK700STi raises the elite gameplay experiences to passionate gamers. In addition, these modes provide gamers complete control over the visual and audio settings, allowing them to view the darkest shadows and sharpest details for the most theatrical experience possible. Running Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War were amazing and there were no noticeable lag.

Gamers will also benefit from low input lag, which means that even on the 120″ screen, racing and action games will not skip a beat, ensuring outstanding definition and incredible details. Furthermore, with its Fast Mode option, the BenQ TK700STi increases the elite gaming experience with a minimum response time of 16ms at 4K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. This mode has the lowest latency of any projector in the market while maintaining 4K resolution, visual clarity, and brilliant HDR color, regardless of the lighting conditions in the room. The projector is also compatible with the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

In-home cinema with onboard Google-certified Android TV

The BenQ TK700STi also includes Google-certified Android TV streaming, which allows customers to access the Google Play Store for Android TV and stay connected to a world of entertainment from the comfort of their own homes. With the stroke of a button, consumers may binge on their favorite movies and series. The QS0I Android TV dongle included with the TK700STi is easily placed into the projector’s HDMI input port, which is hidden behind the cover on the back.

The verdict: BenQ TK700STi

The BenQ TK700STi is an excellent projector for a small space and set up was a breeze. Its Fast Mode option provides a 16ms response time at 4K 60Hz, and maybe the best part of gaming with a purpose-built gaming projector is bringing all of your gaming consoles, old and new, to life. Even for fast-paced games or action movies, the image is sharp and snappy in 4K, with no discernible lag. The screen size is essential, but so is the ability to automatically modify the projector’s video and audio output to match the performance of each game via its Game Modes.

The BenQ TK700STi gaming projector retails at S$2,499 and is available from BenQ’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
