ESET enhances home and small business protection with upgraded security suite

ESET updates its HOME and Small Business Security suites with ransomware recovery, enhanced scam protection, and expanded VPN access.

ESET has strengthened its consumer and small business cybersecurity offerings with major upgrades to its ESET HOME Security and ESET Small Business Security products. The update introduces new tools such as Ransomware Remediation and expands access to its VPN service, aiming to provide stronger protection against scams and evolving digital threats.

Broader protection against modern scams

Recognising scams as a fast-growing global issue, ESET’s latest release enhances its defences against attacks from multiple sources, including SMS, email, phone calls, URLs, QR codes, and malicious files. The company has improved its ESET HOME platform to make security management simpler for households and small office owners. Users can now more easily monitor protected devices and distribute security applications with a consistent and intuitive interface.

Pamela Ong, Country Manager for Singapore and Asia at ESET, said, “In today’s digital landscape, scams and ransomware can affect anyone, from individual users to small business owners. With these enhancements, we aim to make enterprise-grade, all-in-one protection accessible and effortless for every household and SOHO. Our focus remains on prevention, helping users stay ahead of evolving scams while ensuring their digital lives remain private, secure, and easy to manage.”

The company has also expanded access to ESET VPN, acknowledging its importance as a key cybersecurity tool. Previously available only to ESET HOME Security Ultimate users, the VPN feature is now accessible to Premium users as well.

Advanced ransomware and privacy protection

A key addition in the latest version is Ransomware Remediation, a technology originally developed for large enterprises. The feature works alongside ESET’s Ransomware Shield to identify potential ransomware threats and immediately create backups of affected files. Once the threat is resolved, files are restored to their original state, reducing disruption and data loss.

ESET has also enhanced its privacy tools with the improved Microphone Monitor for Windows devices. This feature alerts users to unauthorised attempts to access their microphone hardware, offering an extra layer of protection against eavesdropping and surveillance attempts.

The updated Website Security Inspector further strengthens browser security by scanning rendered HTML to detect malicious content that traditional network-level filters might miss. This helps safeguard users against phishing attacks, scams, and compromised websites.

Cross-platform support for homes and offices

ESET’s security solutions are available across Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, covering most modern devices, including smart home systems. The ESET Small Business Security suite also extends protection to Windows servers, supporting small business environments that rely on multi-device networks.

For macOS users, the updated ESET Cyber Security suite now supports macOS 26 Tahoe and includes enhanced HTTPS and HTTP/3 compatibility for improved online protection. The new Device Control feature lets users manage external devices connected to their Mac, restricting access to specific devices and preventing unauthorised data transfers or malware infections.

These updates reflect ESET’s continued focus on prevention and usability. The company aims to deliver cybersecurity solutions that are not only powerful but also simple to install and manage. By integrating enterprise-grade protection into user-friendly platforms, ESET continues to help households and small businesses stay ahead of cyber threats in an increasingly connected world.
