Facebook is reported to have problems loading images, videos, and other data across its platforms today, leaving some people unable to load photos in the Facebook news feed, view stories on Instagram, or send messages in WhatsApp.
Facebook hasn't revealed the reason for the temperamental behavior but the social networking giant did acknowledge that some of its users are having trouble using their platforms and that engineers are working hard to identify and rectify the root of the problem.
We're aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #facebookdown

According to outage tracking website DownDetector, Facebook users in the United States and the United Kingdom were among the heaviest hit. In Asia, Singapore and Manila reported the most disruptions.
The errors aren't affecting all images; many pictures on Facebook and Instagram still load as per normal, but others are appearing blank. DownDetector has also received reports of people being unable to load messages in their Facebook Messenger.
This outage is not the first time it's happening to Facebook. In March, Facebook users had suffered extended downtime around the globe unable to access their app for more than 24 hours.
