Honor launches 600 Lite with a metal body and a 6,520mAh battery for budget buyers
Honor launches the 600 Lite with a metal body, 6,520mAh battery and AMOLED display, aiming to raise expectations for budget smartphones.
Honor has introduced the Honor 600 Lite, a new budget smartphone designed to improve on the earlier Honor 400 Lite while maintaining an accessible price point. The latest model introduces several upgrades, including a significantly larger battery, a new ultrawide camera and a redesigned metal body intended to enhance durability.

Although positioned as an entry-level device, the handset incorporates features typically seen in higher price segments. Honor is focusing on offering stronger hardware and modern design elements to attract consumers seeking affordable devices with long battery life and premium styling.
The new device also comes with updated internal hardware and software, including artificial intelligence tools integrated into the operating system. While some areas, particularly the camera system, remain relatively modest, the overall package aims to balance cost and performance for everyday users.
Refined design and durable metal construction
The Honor 600 Lite adopts a modern design with flat sides and edges, following a trend seen in many recent smartphones. One of the most noticeable changes from its predecessor is the move to a metal unibody, which Honor said improves the device’s structural durability.
The handset also carries an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance. This certification suggests the device can withstand exposure to dust and strong water jets, an uncommon feature for smartphones in the budget category. The improved build quality suggests that Honor aims to deliver a more premium feel without significantly increasing prices.
At the front, the device features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,600 x 1,200 pixels. AMOLED panels are still relatively rare in lower-cost smartphones, making the inclusion notable for this segment. The screen supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz, which can provide smoother scrolling and more responsive visuals during everyday use.
Brightness levels are also a key highlight. The display can reach a peak brightness of 6,500 nits when measured at Average Picture Level (APL). In practical usage, the phone’s High Brightness Mode reaches up to 2,000 nits, which should help improve visibility when using the device outdoors in strong sunlight.
New processor and large battery for daily performance
Inside the Honor 600 Lite is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Elite processor, a mid-range chipset introduced in January 2026. The inclusion of this relatively new processor suggests the device should deliver reliable performance for common tasks such as web browsing, social media and media streaming.
The handset is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Honor also includes a virtual RAM feature that can extend the total available memory to 16GB by using a portion of the device’s storage. While virtual memory does not match the speed of physical RAM, it can help improve multitasking under heavier workloads.
Connectivity options include support for dual SIM cards, with either slot able to function as the primary line. Users can also activate the second slot as an eSIM, offering additional flexibility for those who frequently switch networks or maintain separate SIM cards for data and calls.
Battery life appears to be one of the device’s strongest features. The Honor 600 Lite is equipped with a 6,520mAh battery, which is considerably larger than those found in many smartphones in its category. The device supports 45W wired charging, allowing users to recharge the battery relatively quickly despite its large capacity.
This focus on battery performance suggests the phone is designed for users who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day, including those who consume large amounts of video content or frequently use mobile data.
Camera compromises and availability in Singapore
While the Honor 600 Lite introduces several hardware upgrades, the camera system is one area where compromises are more evident. The device includes a new ultrawide camera, but it uses a 5MP sensor, which may limit image quality compared with higher-resolution alternatives.
The main rear camera remains a 108MP sensor, as on previous models, and is intended to capture detailed photos in good lighting conditions. On the front, the device features a 16MP camera designed for selfies and video calls.
Video recording capabilities are relatively basic. The smartphone supports up to 1080p recording, which may be sufficient for casual users but falls short of the 4K recording options offered by some competitors.
The device runs MagicOS 10, Honor’s customised interface based on Android 16. The software includes a range of artificial intelligence tools, such as AI photo editing, Google Lens integration, and Honor AI features, intended to assist with everyday tasks.
An AI button, first introduced in the previous model, also returns on the side of the device. This button can serve as a shortcut to launch AI functions or quickly open the camera application.
In Singapore, the Honor 600 Lite is priced at S$399 and is available in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device comes in Desert Gold and Black colour options and is sold through Honor Experience Stores and online platforms, including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
Customers purchasing the smartphone will also receive a complimentary pair of Honor Choice Earbuds X7e Active, valued at S$59, while promotional stocks last.
