Lego unveils 1,972-piece Mario Kart set with posable arms and head

[output_post_excerpt]

Just in time for MAR10 Day, Lego has revealed an exciting new addition to its Mario Kart lineup. The Lego Mario & Standard Kart (72037) set is not just any ordinary build—it’s designed for fans aged 18 and up and boasts an impressive 1,972 pieces, making it the largest in the Lego Mario Kart collection. It’s also the second-largest set in the entire Lego Super Mario theme.

A detailed Mario Kart build for collectors

The set features Mario in his iconic red Standard Kart from Mario Kart 8, offering a highly detailed and interactive design. Once built, the figure stands 22cm tall, 32cm long, and 19cm wide, making it a substantial display piece for any collector.

One of the standout features of this set is its posable head and arms, allowing you to adjust Mario’s pose to capture different racing moments. Whether you want to show him mid-drift or celebrate a race win, the included display stand helps create dynamic and lifelike scenes.

This set is the first of its kind in terms of detail, size, and flexibility within the Lego Mario Kart series. Lego intends for it to be a collector’s item, serving as a Super Mario-themed decor piece once assembled. With such an intricate design, many fans are already speculating whether Lego will expand the lineup with other beloved Mario characters.

Release date and pricing

The Lego Mario & Standard Kart (72037) set is available for pre-order now on Lego’s official website and will start shipping on May 15. Given its adult-oriented design and complexity, it costs US$249.90.

For Mario Kart enthusiasts and Lego collectors alike, this set is shaping up to be a must-have addition. Whether you’re building it for display or simply enjoying the process, it’s a thrilling tribute to one of Nintendo’s most iconic franchises.
