LG unveils latest HVAC innovations at AHR Expo 2025

LG showcases its latest HVAC solutions at AHR Expo 2025, featuring energy-efficient heat pumps, award-winning cold climate technology, and advanced chillers.

LG Electronics is showcasing its latest heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions at the AHR Expo 2025 in Orlando, Florida, from 10 to 12 February. With a growing global focus on decarbonisation and the rising demand for electrification in the HVAC market, LG is unveiling an expanded lineup designed for both residential and commercial use. The company is also displaying its latest HVAC components, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and high-quality performance.

Visitors to the LG HVAC booth can explore a full range of energy-efficient solutions powered by LG’s advanced inverter heat pumps. Equipped with Inverter Scroll Compressors, the entire LG Inverter Heat Pump lineup has received ENERGY STAR certification, confirming its high efficiency. Designed for the North American residential market, where spacious homes with high ceilings are common, these heat pumps offer reliable and powerful heating and cooling. They are also compatible with multiple indoor units, including A-Coils and Furnace systems, thanks to embedded communication kits.

LG is also introducing the new Inverter Heat Pump Water Heater, which utilises the company’s DUAL Inverter Heat Pump technology to maximise efficiency. This model allows users to control settings conveniently through the ThinQ app, providing smart and seamless integration with home systems.

Cold climate heat pump wins innovation award

LG’s booth also features the award-winning LG Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump, which recently received the 2025 AHR Innovation Award in the Sustainable Solutions category. This high-performance unit is ENERGY STAR and Cold Climate ENERGY STAR certified, demonstrating its ability to function in extreme winter conditions. Designed for regions with freezing temperatures, it operates efficiently even at -35°C (-31°F). Additionally, its Low Heating feature prevents pipes from freezing by maintaining indoor temperatures at approximately 10°C (50°F).

Developed in collaboration with the LG-led Global Heat Pump Consortium, this advanced heat pump incorporates an upgraded refrigerant circuit and a powerful compressor to ensure reliable operation even in severe cold weather.

For commercial applications, LG is presenting its upgraded Multi V i Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system, which features a larger heat exchanger for enhanced performance. Designed to help businesses lower their carbon footprint, this system uses R32 refrigerant, which has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 675. It also includes advanced safety features, such as refrigerant leak prevention measures, and offers flexibility in installation, making it a practical solution for various commercial spaces.

Advancements in chiller and component technologies

LG is also introducing its Oil-Free Inverter Centrifugal Chiller, which incorporates the company’s latest developments in chiller technology. Featuring LeviTech magnetic bearing technology, this chiller delivers improved energy efficiency while enhancing part-load efficiency with its inverter system. It also ensures a reliable supply of chilled water through its bearing protection and fast recovery features. The new model supports low-GWP refrigerants, including R513A, R1233zd, and R1234ze, demonstrating LG’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

Alongside its HVAC systems, LG is showcasing an expanded range of compressors and motors at its Component Solutions booth. The company has developed new Scroll Compressors targeting both residential and commercial markets, focusing on high efficiency and innovative design. Additionally, LG is unveiling its latest compressors for Cold Climate Heat Pumps, designed in collaboration with leading HVAC manufacturers. LG has also participated in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Cold Climate Heat Pump Technology Challenge, highlighting the advanced performance of its heat pumps and compressor technology.

Looking ahead, LG’s Component Solutions business plans to strengthen strategic partnerships with major HVAC manufacturers while continuing to introduce innovative technologies that anticipate industry shifts.

“The LG HVAC solutions displayed at AHR Expo 2025 underscore our firm commitment to innovation, and to leading the industry’s transition toward decarbonisation and electrification,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “As a leading global brand, we remain dedicated to delivering efficient and sustainable HVAC technologies and solutions tailored to diverse customer needs and environments.”
