Reddit’s enhanced AMA posts are launching this week

Reddit's AMAs get exciting updates with new scheduling, co-hosting, and notification features, rolling out Thursday for better user engagement.

Reddit’s “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) posts are about to feel more like special events than regular posts, thanks to a series of updates going live on Thursday. Although these changes are not a complete overhaul, they add a fresh emphasis to these popular Q&A sessions.

New features for AMA hosts and participants

Starting Thursday, you’ll notice a new AMA tab offering several unique features. One of the key updates is the ability to schedule and promote an AMA in a single post, making it easier for hosts to prepare and publicise their sessions. Also, hosts can include up to five co-hosts whose responses will be tagged in the comments section. This change ensures readers can quickly identify answers from all the hosts involved.

After the AMA session concludes, hosts can add a closing note to their posts. This can include final thoughts, useful links, or any additional promotional information they wish to share.

Enhanced user experience

For regular Reddit users, the introduction of a new RSVP option means you’ll never miss an AMA you’re interested in. By signing up for notifications, you’ll be alerted when the AMA goes live, ensuring you don’t miss out. Once the AMA begins, new tabs will allow you to filter comments, making it simple to see which questions have been answered and which haven’t. This feature is particularly useful in keeping the conversation organised and accessible.

Scheduled AMAs will also have clear labels indicating their status, such as “coming soon,” “live now,” or “completed.” This helps users quickly identify the stage of the AMA, making it easier to engage with the content at the right time.

Looking forward to better engagement

With these updates, Reddit aims to enhance the overall experience of AMA sessions for hosts and participants. The new features are designed to make AMAs more engaging, organised, and easier to participate in. Whether you’re a frequent visitor to AMA posts or someone who occasionally checks in, these changes promise a more streamlined and enjoyable experience.

By providing hosts with better tools for managing their sessions and offering users enhanced ways to engage, Reddit continues to improve its platform, ensuring that AMAs remain a popular and valuable feature of the site.
