ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition sets six overclocking records

ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition breaks six overclocking records in global benchmark tests with advanced cooling and boosted clock speeds.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has set new global benchmarks with the release of its latest flagship graphics card, the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition. The card has broken six overclocking records across leading performance tests, including 3DMark, UNIGINE, and GPUPI, further solidifying ASUS’ position as a leader in high-performance gaming hardware.

The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition secured four world records and two global first-place rankings. The records were achieved in tests such as 3DMark Port Royal, 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme, and 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, as well as UNIGINE Superposition 1080P Xtreme, UNIGINE Superposition 8K Optimised, and GPUPI v3.3 32B.

Flagship design with advanced cooling and power delivery

At the heart of the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition is its factory-boosted clock speed of 2580MHz, a performance level aimed at delivering extreme gaming power right out of the box. To manage the heat generated by such high speeds, ASUS has fitted the card with a specialised cooling system that includes four fans, a phase-change GPU thermal pad, and a custom vapor chamber.

ASUS has also upgraded the power delivery system with high-quality components, ensuring the GPU receives stable power even under demanding loads. This combination of thermal and power management is key to the card’s ability to sustain record-breaking performance over long periods.

The ROG Astral series is positioned as ASUS’ top-tier family of graphics cards, with the OC Edition representing the highest level of factory tuning available. This makes it a standout option for enthusiasts who want peak performance without manual overclocking.

Built on NVIDIA’s latest architecture

The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition is powered by NVIDIA’s newest GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, which introduces several technological improvements over the previous generation. The card features fourth-generation ray tracing cores for more realistic in-game lighting and reflections, alongside fifth-generation Tensor Cores that enable AI-powered upscaling with DLSS 4.

DLSS 4 uses neural rendering to enhance image quality while maintaining high frame rates, allowing games to run smoothly at higher resolutions. The new GPU architecture also improves memory efficiency, enabling sharper visuals with reduced memory consumption.

ASUS also provides users with GPU Tweak III, a desktop app that allows real-time monitoring and adjustment of key performance metrics such as clock speeds and fan curves. Owners of the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition will have access to Power Detector+, an exclusive feature that checks for issues across all twelve power pins of the 12VHPWR or 12V-2×6 cable. If a fault is detected, the app will immediately alert users to reseat the cable, helping prevent potential hardware damage.

The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition is available in Singapore at S$5,699. ASUS recommends pairing the card with a high-wattage power supply such as the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III or ROG Thor 1600W Titanium III, depending on the user’s CPU choice, overclocking plans, and connected peripherals.
