Singapore’s largest keyboard customisation store is set to open on August 2

[output_post_excerpt]

Get ready, Mecha, MASH, and the LandingPad, because a new keyboard shop is coming to town. The Laboratory by Reformd Group will open its first store at Cathay Cineleisure on August 2.

If Reformd sounds familiar, it’s because the same group manages Reformd Personal Training, Anytime Fitness, and BFT franchises. Their newest venture takes them into the tech retail world, with a 2,600-square-foot space designed to be a haven for keyboard enthusiasts and beginners.

A tech paradise for keyboard fans

The store will offer various components from popular brands such as Akko, Gateron, Keychron, Monsgeek, Nuphy, and Wooting. Located on the second floor of Cineleisure, the shop’s layout is centred around three key stations, each focusing on a different part of the keyboard-building process.

At the first station, you can choose your preferred keyboard base. The second station is all about selecting suitable switches. Finally, the third station offers a variety of keycaps to personalise your creation. A final assembly and testing area ensures that each keyboard is in perfect condition before it leaves the store.

Exclusive collections and hands-on experience

In addition to its customisation services, The Laboratory will display an exclusive collection of rare, one-of-a-kind keyboards. While these unique items are not for sale, they will surely inspire your keyboard designs.

If you’re considering building your first keyboard, The Laboratory is an excellent place to start. Professionals will guide you through the process, from choosing the base and switches to selecting and installing keycaps. You’ll also have the chance to test different switches, feel the texture of keycaps, and experiment with various combinations to find what suits you best.

Store operating hours

The Laboratory will open on August 2 at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard (8 Grange Road, Singapore 239695). For more information, visit the Laboratory’s website.
