ST Telemedia Global Data Centres partners with Zenlayer to boost connectivity across Southeast Asia

STT GDC partners with Zenlayer to enhance private connectivity in Southeast Asia, addressing growing global data demands with high-speed solutions.

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), one of the world’s fastest-expanding colocation service providers, has announced a strategic collaboration with Zenlayer, a leading global provider of hyperconnected cloud solutions. This partnership aims to introduce high-speed, reliable private connectivity to STT GDC’s global network of data centres, beginning with select markets in Southeast Asia.

Enhanced data centre interconnectivity

The collaboration integrates Zenlayer’s Private Connect solution into STT GDC’s Data Centre Interconnection Hubs in key markets, including Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. By leveraging Zenlayer’s extensive private backbone, customers can now access high-speed, carrier-grade connectivity that ensures seamless performance and robust reliability. This move enhances the network capabilities of businesses operating within STT GDC’s facilities, enabling better latency, flexibility, and access to critical IT resources.

STT GDC’s interconnectivity solutions already offer secure and efficient connections between its data centres and vital locations such as internet exchanges and cloud providers. This new development builds upon that foundation, promising improved network performance for businesses aiming to stay competitive in the digital economy.

Lionel Yeo, CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres in Southeast Asia, remarked, “As businesses become increasingly interconnected across the globe, the need for reliable, high-performance data centre connectivity has never been greater. This partnership with Zenlayer allows us to deliver a superior network experience to our customers, no matter where they operate, and to ensure that they can meet the evolving demands of the digital economy and maintain a competitive edge.”

Meeting the demand for seamless digital connections

Joe Han, Chief Operating Officer of Zenlayer, echoed the sentiment, stating, “We are glad to join forces with ST Telemedia Global Data Centres. The partnership underscores our commitment to delivering world-class connectivity solutions across Asia. By combining our strengths, we are well-positioned to provide global businesses with the infrastructure they need to thrive in today’s competitive digital landscape.”

The collaboration addresses the increasing demand for efficient interconnectivity driven by advancements in technologies like AI and 5G and the proliferation of data from IoT and cloud services. Industry analysts project the global data centre interconnect market to surpass US$14 billion by the end of 2024 and reach over US$28 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.98%. The Asia Pacific region, in particular, is expected to be the fastest-growing market, highlighting the importance of initiatives like the STT GDC and Zenlayer partnership.

Global rollout plans

While the initial rollout is focused on Southeast Asia, the joint offering is expected to expand across STT GDC’s global portfolio of data centres in the coming years. This progressive deployment reflects both companies’ commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions, enabling businesses worldwide to meet the growing demands of a connected digital economy.
