StarHub’s HER Hub supports women entrepreneurs with networking and mentorship

StarHub’s HER Hub connects women entrepreneurs with industry leaders, providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and digital solutions for growth.

Women-led businesses are playing an important role in today’s economy, driving innovation and resilience across industries. However, many women entrepreneurs continue to face barriers when it comes to scaling up, with limited access to resources, mentorship, and professional networks. In response, StarHub launched HER Hub, a networking and knowledge-sharing initiative designed to help women-led businesses grow and succeed.

Organised in celebration of International Women’s Day, HER Hub was themed “Empowering Women Through Connection” and brought together women entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and influencers. The event aimed to provide participants with the insights and tools they need to expand their businesses in an evolving market.

“At StarHub, we believe that great businesses are built on great people, and success is never a solo journey,” said Tan Toi Chia, Chief People, Organisation & Communications at StarHub. “HER Hub is our way of fostering a supportive community where womenpreneurs can connect, learn, and grow together.”

A key highlight of HER Hub was a panel discussion titled “From Passion to Profit: Scaling Your Business as a Woman Entrepreneur.” The panel featured business leaders Andrea Chong, co-founder of fashion brand Good Addition, Sahur Saleim, founder of beauty brand Sahur’s Art, and Audra Balasingam, General Counsel and Company Secretary at StarHub. They shared personal experiences and offered advice on business growth, innovation, and the importance of community support.

Andrea Chong highlighted the significance of branding, strategic planning, and adaptability in building a successful business. “Building a lasting business takes passion, adaptability, and a commitment to quality. Passion keeps you going through the highs and lows, while adaptability ensures you stay relevant in an evolving landscape. But at the core, a great product is what keeps customers coming back,” she said.

Sahur Saleim spoke about fostering an inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and leadership among women. “A strong support system starts with open conversations. I always ask, ‘What do you think? How can we do this better?’ Encouraging women to voice their perspectives and honouring their responses fosters an inclusive space where they feel valued and motivated to take the lead,” she said.

Audra Balasingam addressed the role of technology in helping small businesses scale effectively. “Technology isn’t just a tool—it’s a catalyst for growth. By embracing the right digital solutions, small businesses can scale smarter, operate more efficiently, and stay ahead in a rapidly changing market,” she said.

Networking and long-term support for SMEs

Following the panel, HER Hub provided an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to engage with industry experts, potential mentors, and like-minded business owners. Attendees had the chance to build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.

The event is part of StarHub’s broader efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In addition to organising networking and educational initiatives, StarHub offers digital solutions to help businesses improve efficiency, customer engagement, and scalability.

By creating a platform like HER Hub, StarHub continues to invest in women-led businesses, ensuring they have the resources and connections needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive business landscape.
