Xero Lite brings lower-cost finance tools to Malaysian small businesses
Xero Lite launches in Malaysia at US$3.50 per month to help small businesses move from manual finance processes to digital tools.
Xero has launched Xero Lite in Malaysia, introducing a lower-cost plan aimed at micro and small businesses that are still managing finances through notebooks, paper receipts and spreadsheets.
The plan is priced at US$3.50 per month and is designed as an entry point for businesses moving towards digital finance management. The pricing reflects a 50% discount on the current Xero Lite price for new and existing Xero business and partner edition subscriptions set up as Malaysia subscriptions, when purchased before 31 December 2026. The discount applies for 36 months.
The launch comes as many small businesses in Malaysia remain at an early stage of digital adoption. Research from SME Corp. Malaysia shows that over 60% of small businesses are still using only basic digital tools, leaving financial management processes largely manual.
Xero Lite targets basic finance workflows
Xero Lite includes professional invoicing, automatic receipt capture, real-time reports and e-invoicing readiness. Business owners can create and send quotes and up to five invoices per month from a smartphone or computer, giving smaller operators a more structured way to manage customer billing.
The plan also lets users capture data from bills and receipts by taking a photo on a smartphone. These records are stored in the cloud, reducing reliance on manual entry and physical paperwork.
Real-time reports are included to help business owners monitor operational performance, cash trends and profit margins. The plan is also built to be e-invoicing ready, giving smaller businesses a way to prepare for future requirements.
App connections give businesses room to expand
Xero Lite provides access to the Xero App Store, allowing businesses to connect specialised apps for areas such as inventory and payments as their needs grow. The plan also includes a connection to Claude through Xero’s integration with Anthropic, bringing Claude into Xero and Xero’s financial data and tools into Claude.ai.
Koren Wines, Managing Director APAC at Xero, said the plan is intended for small business owners who need simpler and lower-cost digital tools.
“We know Malaysian business owners are stretched thin, wearing multiple hats and balancing long hours with the demands of life and work,” said Koren Wines, Managing Director APAC at Xero. “There’s no shortage of ambition, but access to simple, low-cost tools can still be a barrier. Xero Lite is an easy first step into digital tools for those starting out. It’s designed to give small businesses clearer financial visibility and the confidence to make better informed decisions. By simplifying and automating everyday admin, we’re helping entrepreneurs spend less time on paperwork and feel more prepared for what’s ahead, including e-invoicing.”
Businesses that need more functionality can upgrade from Xero Lite to the Xero Starter plan, which includes features such as automated bank feeds. Xero Lite is available in Malaysia now.
