Xiaomi launches new Robot Vacuum S40C with better suction and smarter navigation

Xiaomi’s new Robot Vacuum S40C brings better suction and smart navigation at a lower price, now available for just S$189.

Xiaomi has added a new product to its range of smart home gadgets — the Robot Vacuum S40C. This new model has improved cleaning features, better navigation, and a more affordable price. If you’ve been looking for a way to keep your home tidy without breaking the bank, this could be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

Better mapping and smarter movement

The standout feature of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C is its upgraded LDS laser navigation system. It offers 360° panoramic detection, helping the vacuum to map your home accurately and plan cleaning routes in real time. This means the vacuum can adapt on the go, avoiding areas it has already cleaned and quickly moving around furniture.

With a compact design measuring 340 × 340 × 97 mm, the S40C is slim enough to reach under sofas, beds, and other tight spots. It also includes multiple onboard sensors that help the device avoid obstacles like furniture legs and keep it from falling down stairs. You don’t need to worry about getting stuck either — it can climb ledges and small steps up to 20 mm high.

The vacuum has four suction modes: Silent, Standard, Strong, and Turbo. It can deliver up to 5,000 Pa of suction power, which is strong enough to clean up fine dust, pet hair, and even larger bits of debris. Whether you’ve got tile, carpet, or wood floors, this vacuum is built to handle them all.

More effective mopping for a deeper clean

The Xiaomi S40C doesn’t just vacuum—it also mops. It comes with a 260 ml water tank and allows you to choose between three different water levels depending on how dirty your floors are. It uses a Y-shaped mopping pattern designed to imitate the way people mop manually, ensuring that the floors are cleaned more thoroughly.

The vacuum has a 520 ml dust box built into it, which means it can pick up quite a bit of dirt before emptying it. The vacuum is powered by a 2600 mAh battery, which should be enough to clean most average-sized homes in one session, although Xiaomi hasn’t shared the exact run time.

Smart home ready and easy to control

If you already use smart home devices, you’ll be happy to know that the S40C works well with them. It connects with the Xiaomi Home app, where you can customise the cleaning map, set no-go zones, and schedule cleanings. You can even control it using voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, making it a breeze even when your hands are full.

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C is now available for S$189 through Xiaomi’s official web store at mi.com and its shops on Shopee and Lazada.

To mark the launch, Xiaomi is hosting a Smart Home Experiential Roadshow from June 9 to June 15 at Waterway Point, Village Square on Level 1. At the event, you can see the S40C in action within a mock smart home setup and try out its features for yourself.
