Advantech marks 30 years in Singapore with Edge AI and IoT forum

Advantech celebrates 30 years in Singapore with an Edge AI and IoT forum showcasing innovation in sustainability, industry, and education.

Advantech has marked its 30th anniversary in Singapore with the “Insight to Impact: Edge AI x IoT Forum”, held at the Carlton Hotel. The event reflected the company’s long-standing presence as a global leader in intelligent IoT systems and edge computing, while reinforcing its commitment to driving sustainable innovation across industries.

Singapore, serving as Advantech’s strategic hub for the Asia and Intercontinental regions, plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of Edge AI and IoT technologies across ASEAN markets. The company continues to work closely with local partners to co-create solutions that support the region’s digital and sustainable transformation.

The forum showcased how Advantech’s edge technologies are transforming industries and enabling digital progress. Attendees, including partners, customers, and academic representatives, explored real-world use cases where edge intelligence is applied to areas such as smart cities, manufacturing, and sustainability.

Live demonstrations highlight industry applications

The event featured live demonstrations under Advantech’s “Edge Computing & WISE Edge in Action” theme. Among the highlights were the Advantech iFactory solution for smart manufacturing and an Intelligent Energy Monitoring Solution designed to boost efficiency and sustainability. The Edge AI Solution illustrated real-time decision-making at the industrial edge, while the Advantech Transportation Solution, powered by Ouster LiDAR technology, showed how AIoT is shaping the future of mobility and safety.

Ecosystem partners such as Microsoft and Ubuntu demonstrated secure device management and embedded operating systems, while robotics developers using the ROS framework showcased collaborative automation systems. AI partners also presented applications in security, surveillance, and healthcare, along with emerging humanoid technologies. Academic partners contributed with exhibits focused on robotics and urban farming, highlighting the value of applied learning and innovation in sustainability.

Co-creation and talent development at the core

Central to Advantech’s long-term success is its Co-Creation Model, which brings together global technology leaders, software developers, and system integrators to build industry-specific solutions. This model helps speed up innovation, improve interoperability, and create scalable ecosystems that translate technological insights into business outcomes.

Advantech is also deeply invested in developing future talent through collaboration with academic institutions. Students are using the company’s Edge AI platform MIC-743, powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, to build high-performance Edge AI applications for competitions. Others are experimenting with LoRaWAN and low-power edge platforms to design smart urban farming solutions. These initiatives strengthen hands-on learning and contribute to the goals of the Singapore Green Plan 2030, particularly in food security and sustainability.

“As we celebrate 30 years in Singapore, we remain focused on empowering industries and communities through edge intelligence,” said Vincent Chang, General Manager of Advantech Singapore and Managing Director for Asia and Intercontinental Region. “By working hand-in-hand with our partners and academia, we are turning insight into impact – fostering innovation that drives both technological progress and sustainable growth.”

Looking ahead to the next decade

As the company celebrates three decades of innovation and collaboration, Advantech reaffirms its mission to drive edge intelligence for a sustainable future. Through continuous technological development, open collaboration, and education partnerships, it aims to empower organisations across Asia to bridge technology, people, and purpose at the intelligent edge.
