Apple launches Invites: A new event-planning app for special occasions

Apple’s new Invites app simplifies event planning with guest list management, shared albums, and playlists. Requires iCloud+ for event creation.

Apple has unveiled Invites, a brand-new app designed to help you easily plan and manage events. Seamlessly integrated into Apple’s ecosystem, Invites simplifies organising gatherings, making it a convenient tool for users who frequently host events.

Easy event planning with Apple’s ecosystem

With Invites, you can create events and share them effortlessly with family and friends. The app allows invitees to RSVP, while the host can manage the guest list directly within the app. This eliminates the hassle of tracking responses across multiple messaging platforms, ensuring no reply gets lost.

Apple has also included shared albums, allowing attendees to contribute event photos and videos and create a collaborative digital memory. A Shared Playlist feature also enables guests to add songs, crafting the perfect party soundtrack. However, this feature requires an Apple Music subscription.

Designed for convenience and accessibility

The guest list management function is the most valuable feature, particularly for larger gatherings. Instead of manually checking responses across different platforms, you can keep track of RSVPs in one place, ensuring a smoother planning experience.

The Invites app is now available on the App Store. Reports suggest that Android users can access the service, but only via a web-based version on iCloud.

iCloud+ subscription required for event creation

To create and send invites, you will need an iCloud+ subscription. Fortunately, those without a subscription can still receive and respond to invitations. The iCloud+ plan starts at US$1.48 per month and provides 50GB of storage for photos, backups, files, and more.

If you’re looking for a straightforward way to plan events and manage guest lists, Invites could be the perfect solution. You can download the app from the App Store today.
