Aptos Foundation partners with Ignition AI Accelerator to drive AI startups in APAC

[output_post_excerpt]

The Ignition AI Accelerator, a joint initiative between NVIDIA, Tribe, and Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), has announced a partnership with Aptos Foundation to accelerate the growth of AI startups in Asia. This collaboration enhances Aptos Foundation’s ongoing efforts to connect its expertise and Aptos-related technologies with AI solutions, which are expected to be transformative for businesses and economies in the region.

Aptos Foundation will provide industry expertise and financial support, aiming to fuel the next generation of AI innovators in the Asia-Pacific region. These startups are pushing the boundaries of AI development on a global scale. Singapore’s position as the world’s most prepared country for AI, as reported in recent IMF research, reflects its years of investment in AI infrastructure and talent.

Boosting AI startup development

Aptos Foundation will offer resources and support to AI startups within the Ignition AI Accelerator, helping them access emerging technologies and global markets. In addition, the foundation will leverage Microsoft’s OpenAI Service, which it believes will reduce barriers to technology adoption and create a clear path for the practical application of advanced technologies. The foundation’s relationships with AI leaders such as Overlai and Adot are expected to further enhance this initiative.

Ng Yi Ming, Director of The Ignition AI Accelerator, noted, “Onboarding Aptos Foundation as a technical partner marks a key milestone in Ignition AI Accelerator’s mission to fuel AI startups and drive synergies with global leaders in emerging technologies. By harnessing resources and expertise, we aim to empower AI startups with the tools they need to build applications that will define the next phase of technological advancements. Together, we are committed to driving the evolution of the AI sector and nurturing a new generation of AI entrepreneurs.”

Aptos Foundation’s expansion into AI

Aptos Foundation, while primarily focused on blockchain accessibility and decentralisation, is expanding into AI technologies. This move is expected to bring a new dimension to the global technology ecosystem, making emerging technologies more accessible to the general public.

Bashar Lazaar, Head of Grants & Ecosystem at Aptos Foundation, shared his thoughts on the partnership: “The growth potential for AI is unmatched, and we look forward to leading the way in this transformative approach to fueling innovation and entrepreneurship. With this partnership, we aim to join the global partners at The Ignition AI Accelerator in catalysing the creation of AI applications, ideas, products and services. Together, we will empower a new wave of AI tech founders and pioneers building the future in APAC with worldwide potential.”

The Ignition AI Accelerator, launched in May 2024, is a global programme based in Singapore. It supports AI startups by providing business and technical acceleration, offering deep AI development expertise, cloud credits, and funding opportunities. Since its inception, the accelerator has collaborated with leading industry giants to equip AI-focused ventures with the knowledge and resources to scale globally.
