Chipolo unveils rechargeable Loop and Card Bluetooth trackers

Chipolo launches its first rechargeable Bluetooth trackers, the Loop and Card, offering six-month battery life and IP67 durability.

Chipolo has unveiled its first rechargeable Bluetooth-powered item trackers, the Loop and the Card, offering an alternative to models that require battery replacement. Both devices are compatible with Apple’s and Google’s Find My Device networks, broadening their usability across different ecosystems. The new trackers join the company’s existing line-up, which includes the colourful Pop pucks released earlier this year.

The Loop and Card are now available for preorder at US$39 each. The Loop features a round, AirTag-like design, complemented by a colour-matched silicone ring that allows users to attach it easily to keys, bags or other belongings. It is offered in six colours: white, black, navy, pink, yellow and mint green. The Card, meanwhile, is a slim, grey, credit card-shaped device that fits neatly into wallets or pockets in phone cases, making it an unobtrusive option for tracking valuable items.

Charging options and battery life

Both trackers are designed to provide approximately six months of use on a single charge, outperforming rivals such as Nomad’s Tracking Card, which lasts around five months. The Loop charges via USB-C, while the Card supports Qi wireless charging. Chipolo has not included charging accessories in the package, so customers will need to provide their own USB-C cables and Qi chargers.

The rechargeable feature marks a significant shift for Chipolo, which previously focused on battery-replacement models. By allowing users to recharge their devices instead of buying and installing new batteries, the brand is aiming for greater convenience and environmental sustainability.

Features and durability

Aside from their distinct shapes and charging methods, the Loop and Card are differentiated mainly by their maximum alert volumes. The Card emits alerts at 110 decibels, while the Loop can reach up to 125 decibels, making it easier to locate in noisy environments. Both devices share a Bluetooth range of up to 400 feet, significantly higher than the 200 to 300 feet offered by Chipolo’s Pop tracker.

Durability has also been a focus in the design of these new trackers. Both models carry an IP67 rating, meaning they are resistant to dust and water. They can also withstand immersion in up to one metre of water for as long as 30 minutes, making them suitable for outdoor and everyday use.

The introduction of the Loop and Card signals Chipolo’s continued expansion of its product line with practical, user-friendly solutions for tracking personal belongings. Preorders are available immediately, with shipping expected to begin soon.
