IBS Software introduces AI-powered virtual agents to transform air cargo operations

IBS Software launches AI-powered virtual agents at its 25th Cargo Forum, advancing predictive and intelligent air cargo operations.

IBS Software has announced a new generation of AI-driven tools aimed at redefining air cargo management. The company unveiled its Agentic AI suite at the 25th edition of the IBS Cargo Forum (ICF) in New Delhi. The launch marks a major step in the company’s push to bring greater intelligence, speed, and foresight to global cargo operations.

Enhancing efficiency with AI-driven support

The Agentic AI suite integrates intelligent, conversational agents into the iCargo platform to support core functions such as revenue management, customer service, mail management, and sales. Users can interact with the system using natural language to receive contextual insights and real-time recommendations. The technology goes beyond responding to queries by predicting issues, recommending actions, and explaining decisions.

These AI-powered copilots are designed to help cargo teams recover revenue faster, handle disruptions in real time, and provide personalised customer experiences at scale. Tasks such as yield optimisation, quick resolution of customer queries, and anomaly detection in mail and sales processes can now be completed more efficiently, reducing manual work while improving accuracy and speed.

Driving operational transformation

According to Radhesh Menon, Head of Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, the technology addresses practical challenges faced by cargo operators. “These AI agents act as copilots, empowering cargo teams to recover revenue faster, respond to disruptions instantly, and deliver personalised customer experiences at scale. This is about transforming operations from reactive to predictive,” he said.

The platform takes a three-part approach to transformation. It aims to improve customer experience through conversational and highly personalised interfaces, enhance operational performance with intelligent agents, and promote an AI-first culture that makes insights widely accessible across teams. IBS Software said this strategy delivers measurable benefits, including faster revenue recovery, reduced manual effort, and better service levels, while maintaining trust, compliance, and scalability.

George Varghese, Head of the Data and AI Centre of Excellence at IBS Software, emphasised the long-term vision behind the new technology. “We are empowering our customers by uniting iCargo’s robustness as a trusted system of record and its maturity as a platform with the agility of agents to drive outcomes across their networks. With explainable AI built into the core, we ensure trust and transparency while delivering enterprise-grade intelligence at scale—making our customers future-ready in the agent economy,” he said.

A milestone Cargo Forum

This year’s event marked the 25th edition of the IBS Cargo Forum, which has grown into a major global platform for co-innovation in the air cargo industry. Since its launch in 2012, ICF has become a key driver of digital transformation, bringing together more than 100 airline and cargo handling customers to shape the evolution of the iCargo platform and adopt next-generation technologies such as AI.

IBS Software said the milestone event underscored its long-term commitment to building strong industry partnerships and driving meaningful change. By combining AI innovation with a proven digital cargo platform, the company aims to help carriers and cargo handlers shift from reactive operations to predictive and proactive strategies that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
