iFixit partners with Microsoft to offer official Xbox repair parts

iFixit now sells official Xbox Series X and S parts with repair guides, empowering gamers to fix consoles and reduce waste.

If you’ve ever struggled to repair your Xbox, here’s some good news. iFixit now offers genuine Xbox Series X and S parts, giving you a straightforward way to fix your gaming console at home. These parts are part of iFixit’s collaboration with Microsoft, which aims to extend the life of your gaming devices and keep them out of landfills.

Genuine parts with repair guides

At iFixit’s Microsoft Repair Hub, you’ll find everything you need for Xbox repairs. The parts cover the all-digital and disc-drive editions of the Xbox Series X and S. To make the process easier, iFixit provides step-by-step repair guides, ensuring you can handle the fixes even if you’re not an expert.

“We’re excited to be working with Microsoft to keep Xboxes running longer and out of the waste heap,” says Elizabeth Chamberlain, iFixit’s director of sustainability. This collaboration follows iFixit’s earlier initiative with Microsoft, which began in 2023 when it started offering parts for Microsoft Surface devices.

“Since we launched our Surface parts collaboration with Microsoft last year, we’ve been helping our customers repair their own Microsoft laptops and tablets — and it’s awesome to offer Xbox owners the same opportunity,” Chamberlain adds.

Expanding partnerships in gaming

Microsoft isn’t the only gaming brand that iFixit has teamed up with. If you’re a Steam Deck user, iFixit has nearly every part you might need to repair Valve’s handheld gaming PC. Alongside parts, the company provides repair guides, making DIY fixes for the Steam Deck just as convenient.

For Xbox users looking to repair controllers, Microsoft sells official parts for the standard and Elite Series 2 Xbox controllers, further enhancing repair options.

Beyond gaming: more repair solutions

iFixit’s commitment to empowering users extends beyond gaming. The company offers genuine repair parts for Google’s Pixel phones and tablets. However, iFixit’s partnership with Samsung, which had previously allowed users to access genuine parts for Samsung devices, ended earlier this year.

This latest collaboration with Microsoft reinforces iFixit’s role as a leader in the right-to-repair movement. Whether you’re dealing with a scratched screen, faulty drive, or malfunctioning controller, iFixit makes keeping your devices in top condition easier.
