LG introduces new vacuum cleaning solutions at IFA 2024

LG unveils new vacuum cleaning solutions at IFA 2024, including the innovative All-in-One Tower Combi and a robot vacuum that vacuums and mops simultaneously.

At this year’s IFA in Berlin, LG Electronics unveiled its latest advancements in cleaning technology: the LG CordZero All-in-One Tower Combi and a new robot vacuum that integrates vacuuming and mopping capabilities. These innovations are designed to streamline and enhance users’ cleaning experience.

Streamlined cleaning with the All-in-One Tower Combi

The All-in-One Tower Combi offers an innovative solution that redefines how storage, charging, and functionality are integrated into a single, streamlined unit. This system combines the esteemed CordZero A9X stick vacuum with the innovative CordZero R5 robot vacuum. The Dual Auto Empty feature is a highlight, automatically emptying the dustbins of both vacuums when docked. This docking station acts as a charger and a comprehensive management unit that minimises space usage and includes a UVC LED to prevent bacterial growth in the dust bag.

The A9X model is equipped with LG’s Smart Inverter Motor, which delivers robust suction capabilities. It also features KOMPRESSOR technology, which compresses dust and debris, increasing bin capacity and reducing the frequency of emptying. Additionally, the A9X includes a Spray Mop for efficient cleaning on hard floors.

The CordZero R5 complements this set-up by allowing simultaneous vacuuming and mopping. This is facilitated by its automatic water supply system, which keeps the mop consistently wet, reducing the need for frequent refills. It navigates safely around obstacles and furniture with a sophisticated 360 LiDAR sensor, enhancing its ability to prevent mishaps like falling downstairs.

Advanced robot vacuum enhances cleaning efficiency

LG’s latest robot vacuum, showcased at IFA 2024, combines multiple cleaning functions into a single device. It features automatic mop cleaning and drying and an automatic water refill and disposal system, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention. Its use of LiDAR technology ensures precise navigation, while a front camera and multiple sensors capable of recognising up to 96 different objects enhance its ability to avoid obstacles.

This robot vacuum is powerful. Its motor provides up to 10,000 pascals of suction, and its mop rotates at 180 rpm, ensuring thorough cleaning. It intelligently adjusts its cleaning method when encountering carpets, increasing suction and lifting the mop to avoid dampening the fabric.

Furthermore, LG has designed these vacuums to include features that minimise odours from wastewater. The system cleans the mop with a specially formulated cleanser and dries it with hot air, reducing the buildup of odours by about 30%. This feature ensures a fresher and more hygienic cleaning cycle.

“We have merged the cleaning and maintenance process into one to deliver the convenient and effortless user experience consumer’s desire,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “We are fully committed to introducing a steady stream of innovative home appliances that exceed all expectations, with a strong focus on constantly redefining the seamless user experience.”

LG’s new products will be displayed at its booth in Hall 18 at Messe Berlin from 6 to 10 September 2024, offering visitors a firsthand look at the future of home cleaning technology.
