LG unveils world’s first transparent and true wireless 4K OLED TV

[output_post_excerpt]

LG Electronics is redefining home entertainment with the global launch of the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world’s first transparent and true wireless 4K OLED TV. This 77-inch marvel, which was unveiled at CES 2024, is set to hit the U.S. market this December, with additional regions to follow.

The LG SIGNATURE OLED T represents a major leap in technology and design, showcasing LG’s dedication to delivering cutting-edge innovations. This transparent OLED TV transitions seamlessly between transparent and opaque modes at the touch of a button, creating entirely new possibilities for home entertainment and interior design.

Recognised globally, LG’s transparent OLED earned a spot on TIME’s Best Inventions 2024 list and bagged five CES 2024 Innovation Awards, including the prestigious Best of Innovation honour.

Innovative features and immersive experiences

In transparent mode, the OLED T delivers an unparalleled futuristic experience. Viewers can enjoy the illusion of content “floating” in mid-air, blending on-screen visuals with their surroundings. In opaque mode, it provides the vibrant picture quality LG OLED is renowned for, ensuring an optimal viewing experience.

Among the standout features is T-Objet, an Always-On-Display mode that transforms the screen into a transparent canvas for showcasing artwork, videos, or photos with remarkable clarity. Another innovative addition is the T-Bar, an information ticker displaying sports scores, IoT updates, weather forecasts, or song details along the bottom edge. This feature ensures a clean aesthetic by leaving the rest of the screen and the space behind it unobstructed.

T-Home, a user-friendly interface, offers a streamlined overview of apps, settings, and other features, making navigation simple and convenient.

Advanced technology for a cable-free future

The LG SIGNATURE OLED T isn’t just visually stunning—it’s also a true technological powerhouse. The screen incorporates LG’s proprietary Zero Connect Box, a wireless video and audio transmission system that delivers lossless quality with no noticeable latency. Supporting 4K resolution at 120Hz, the OLED T is certified by NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium, ensuring a seamless gaming experience free of screen tearing and stuttering.

In addition to its visual innovations, the TV’s audio is equally impressive. It utilises LG’s α (Alpha) 11 AI processor to optimise picture and sound quality, creating immersive and lifelike entertainment.

The OLED T is designed to maximise living space. Its transparent display can be placed in front of windows or in the centre of a room without blocking natural light or views. This spatial flexibility sets it apart from conventional TVs, offering a sense of openness that enhances modern interiors.

A bold vision for the future

Since its first OLED TV launch in 2013, LG has been synonymous with exceptional picture quality and innovation. With the OLED T, LG continues its legacy by combining superior visual performance with groundbreaking form factors and wireless connectivity.

Park Hyoung-sei, president of LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, remarked, “LG SIGNATURE OLED T is an exceptional user-focused innovation that offers a distinctive, multi-faceted viewing experience and unprecedented spatial flexibility. LG remains at the forefront of innovation by combining its industry-leading OLED technology with unique form factors, transparent screens, wireless connectivity and more, delivering unparalleled, life-enriching advancements no other TV maker can replicate.”

This world-first TV underscores LG’s commitment to staying ahead in the rapidly evolving home entertainment landscape, blending cutting-edge technology with practical design for a truly unique product.
