NTT DATA launches global Microsoft Cloud unit to boost enterprise AI adoption

NTT DATA has launched a global Microsoft Cloud unit to help enterprises accelerate AI-driven cloud transformation and modernisation.

The new global business unit is designed to meet growing enterprise demand for secure and scalable cloud services, particularly those powered by artificial intelligence. Built on a longstanding alliance with Microsoft, the initiative consolidates NTT DATA’s expertise in Microsoft Cloud, security, and AI, offering clients end-to-end support for modernising operations and navigating complex compliance landscapes.

“Through our global business unit for Microsoft Cloud, we’re bringing together the strengths of both organisations to solve modern problems using advanced cloud and AI technologies, whether it’s modernising operations, improving how people work and connect, or delivering more intelligent, secure and resilient digital experiences,” said Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services at NTT DATA, Inc.

NTT DATA has already seen strong traction with its Agentic AI services, launched earlier this year in partnership with Microsoft’s Azure and Azure AI Foundry. In just 90 days, these services have led to nearly 100 enterprise client opportunities, including engagements with Newell Brands.

The new unit will also scale support for multi-agent workflows using the Azure AI Agent Service. This will enable businesses to build and manage intelligent systems that automate and orchestrate operations across multiple platforms in real time.

Global capabilities and leadership

The unit is led by Aishwarya Singh, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud. It brings together more than 24,000 Microsoft certifications held by NTT DATA specialists and operates in over 50 countries.

To support adoption, NTT DATA is aligning its global sales, pre-sales and delivery teams with Microsoft’s engineering and go-to-market efforts. This alignment will help organisations design, build, migrate and implement modern solutions across industries and regulated sectors using Microsoft Cloud.

The company is placing particular emphasis on Agentic AI, which includes AI-powered voice communications and intelligent orchestration via Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Foundry. Other areas of focus include modernising cloud applications with Microsoft Azure, improving developer efficiency through a library of over 500 industry-specific microservices, and enhancing digital experiences using Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 Contact Center.

Emphasis on security and sovereignty

NTT DATA is also among a select group of Microsoft partners working on Sovereign Cloud specialisation under the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program. This positions the company to support clients with strict regulatory and data sovereignty requirements, especially in sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government.

With 27 Microsoft Advanced Specialisations, including Security, Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, and Infrastructure, NTT DATA aims to help enterprises migrate and analyse large volumes of data, scale AI and machine learning capabilities, and implement flexible cloud architectures to drive innovation.
