Realme teases a new ‘flagship killer’ in the GT 7 series

Realme teases a powerful new “flagship killer” phone under its GT 7 series, which is likely to launch soon with top features and global support.

Realme could be just days away from unveiling a powerful new phone in its GT 7 series. If you’ve been following tech updates, you might have noticed hints posted by Chase Xu, Realme’s Global Vice President and President of Global Marketing, on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. These teasers strongly suggest that a new device in the GT 7 line is on the way.

A look back at the GT 7 Pro

It helps to know where things stand to understand what’s coming. The Realme GT 7 Pro was launched in November 2024 and is available in Singapore for S$1,299. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and is sold on platforms like Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. What makes the GT 7 Pro stand out is its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chip is Qualcomm’s top-tier chipset for 2025, designed to power high-performance phones.

Given the GT 7 Pro’s impressive features, any new addition to the series will likely build on this strong foundation. Realme seems to be preparing a “flagship killer”—a phone that can take on high-end models from rival brands but likely at a lower cost.

Hints on social media stir interest

Chase Xu shared a teaser video on his X account and a photo of himself holding an unnamed device. He used the hashtag #realmeg7series, which confirms that this new model will be part of the GT 7 range. He also clearly labelled the new phone as a “flagship killer.”

However, things are quieter on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. Xu has not yet shared any details about a new launch there. So far, the only activity on Weibo related to the GT 7 series is a promotional video featuring the Emei Women’s Kung Fu Group. While the video is striking, it reveals no information about a new model.

This silence in China, contrasted with the excitement brewing on global platforms, suggests that Realme might target a broader international release for the upcoming phone.

What can you expect from this new model?

While Realme hasn’t confirmed exact specifications or a release date, the phrase “flagship killer” gives you a good idea of what to expect. The new phone might offer even better performance than the GT 7 Pro. Alternatively, it could be a slightly toned-down model with similar features, priced well below the S$1,299 mark.

In either case, it’s likely to attract attention, especially if Realme continues offering high-end features at a more affordable price. This approach has helped the brand gain a strong following among users who want cutting-edge technology without breaking the bank.

So far, there’s no official date for the launch of this new phone. But with teasers already making the rounds online, it’s safe to say the announcement could happen very soon.
