Salesforce launches Agentforce 2dx to embed proactive AI into business workflows

Salesforce launches Agentforce 2dx, letting businesses add proactive AI agents into workflows to boost automation and efficiency.

Salesforce has announced the launch of Agentforce 2dx, the latest version of its digital labour platform designed to bring autonomous AI agents into day-to-day business processes. With this update, Agentforce expands beyond traditional user-initiated chatbots, allowing AI agents to proactively manage tasks, operate in the background, and respond to live data changes without needing human input at every step.

This development means companies can now integrate AI agents directly into their existing systems, data platforms, and processes. These agents can automatically trigger actions, update workflows, and work across apps to help businesses handle routine tasks faster and more efficiently.

Agentforce 2dx aims to meet growing demand from companies looking to automate work across different teams while reducing the need for manual oversight. According to Salesforce, the update makes AI agents more flexible, helping businesses anticipate needs, react to changing data, and deliver faster service to both customers and employees.

Tools for faster deployment and a built-in agent marketplace

To help companies get started with AI agents quickly, Salesforce has introduced a set of low-code and pro-code tools that let developers and administrators build, test, and deploy agents faster. The tools come with real-time analytics and AI-powered support, so teams can monitor performance and fix issues as they arise.

In addition to the new tools, Salesforce has launched Agentforce Developer Edition, a free environment where developers can test out Agentforceโ€™s features. This includes access to Salesforce Data Cloud, which acts as a large-scale data engine, allowing AI agents to work with real-time data from across the business.

Another key feature of this release is AgentExchange, a new marketplace built directly into Salesforce. AgentExchange offers a library of pre-built agent templates and actions created by Salesforceโ€™s partners and broader community. Each template has passed a security review and comes with customer ratings, helping companies choose reliable components to speed up deployment.

At launch, AgentExchange includes over 200 partners and hundreds of ready-to-use agent actions. This marketplace also allows partners to sell their own agent components, providing a new revenue stream for technology partners in the growing US$6 trillion digital labour market.

Early adopters and experts share impact of agentic AI

Some companies are already using Agentforce to change the way they work. One of the first adopters, The Adecco Group, has integrated Agentforce into its recruitment platform. By combining Agentforce with Salesforce Data Cloud and MuleSoft, Adecco has centralised data from over 40 systems, allowing AI agents to manage key recruitment tasks automatically.

Greg Shewmaker, Senior Vice President of Global Operations and AI at The Adecco Group, said, “Agentforce is completely transforming our recruitment process. By automating resume screening and using AI to engage with millions of candidates, we can connect with every applicant and make sure they feel valued and informed. This not only improves the experience for candidates but also frees up our recruiters to focus on building meaningful relationships, all while boosting our efficiency and scalability.”

Salesforce says these kinds of results show the growing need for digital labour to support businesses that face worker shortages and increasing workloads. Adam Evans, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Salesforceโ€™s AI Platform, shared, “Companies today have more work than workers, and Agentforce is stepping in to fill the gap. By extending digital labour beyond CRM, we’re making it easier than ever for businesses to embed agentic AI into any workflow or application to handle routine tasks, augment employees, and connect with customers. With deep integrations across Salesforce’s digital labour platform, CIOs, IT leaders, and developers can seamlessly build agents and automate work wherever it happens, driving efficiency, fueling innovation, and unlocking new opportunities in the US$6 trillion digital labour market.”

Industry experts say agentic AI, where AI agents work independently to complete tasks and make decisions, will reshape automation strategies for many companies. Analyst firm Valoir found that companies using platforms like Agentforce can develop agents 16 times faster than using traditional methods and improve accuracy by 75%.

Further research from Futurum Research found that companies using Agentforce can achieve return on investment (ROI) up to five times faster, with a 20% lower total cost of ownership. These companies also reported 40% faster case resolution times and 25% higher lead conversion rates โ€” directly benefiting customer satisfaction and revenue growth.

Dion Hinchcliffe, Vice President and Practice Lead at Futurum Group, further highlighted, “89% of CIOs identify AI and automation as critical to their digital strategy in 2025, yet 60% of AI projects fail to deliver clear ROI. Agentforce bridges this gap with pre-built workflows that deliver measurable impact fast. While DIY agent-based AI projects can take up to a year to implement, Agentforce customers go live in just 4-6 weeks, realising value 3-4 times faster. As AI agents become embedded across business operations, from engineering to go-to-market, they will fundamentally reshape how teams engage with customers and partners. Instead of siloed interactions across CRM, support platforms, and marketing tools, AI agents can coordinate responses, escalate issues, and optimise workflows in real time. Companies that harness this shift โ€” especially in their partner ecosystems โ€” will gain a competitive edge in both performance and market reach.”

With Agentforce 2dx, AgentExchange, and new developer tools, Salesforce aims to make AI agents a standard part of daily business operations, helping companies work faster, smarter, and more efficiently.
