Samsung Galaxy A16 delivers 5G, large display, and sleek design for S$318

[output_post_excerpt]

Samsung has expanded its Galaxy lineup in Singapore with the Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A16 LTE release. These new models follow the Galaxy A15 series, launched earlier this year, and bring notable upgrades, including a larger display, a slimmer design, and enhanced features.

Bigger screen, slimmer design

The Galaxy A16 series boasts a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, an upgrade from the Galaxy A15’s 6.5-inch screen. Its ultra-slim 7.9mm body is sleeker than its predecessor, which measured 8.4mm. Despite its larger screen and thinner design, the Galaxy A16 retains a user-friendly key island layout that provides a comfortable and intuitive grip.

Powered by an octa-core processor and equipped with 8GB of RAM, the Galaxy A16 promises smooth performance. Its 5,000mAh battery can reportedly handle up to 18 hours of video playback, ensuring it lasts through your day. While Samsung hasn’t specified the exact processor model, the device has features for everyday use.

Samsung is also committing to long-term software support. You’ll get six generations of One UI and Android OS updates and six years of Samsung Security Maintenance Releases (SMR). These updates ensure your device stays secure and up-to-date over time.

Additional features and security

The Galaxy A16 series comes with Samsung Knox, a defence-grade security platform designed to protect your data. It also has IP54-rated dust and water resistance, giving you extra peace of mind in challenging conditions.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the rear triple-camera setup, which includes a 50MP main lens, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. A 13MP front-facing camera covers selfies. With 128GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 1.5TB with a microSD card, you’ll have plenty of room for photos, videos, and apps.

Availability and pricing

The Samsung Galaxy A16 series is now available through various outlets, including M1, Singtel, Starhub, Samsung’s online store, the Samsung Shop app, Samsung Experience Stores, and official stores on Lazada and Shopee. It can also be found in major electronics and IT retailers.

Here are the configurations, colour options, and pricing:

  • Samsung Galaxy A16 5G: Starting at $318
  • Samsung Galaxy A16 LTE: Price varies based on configuration

As a special launch promotion, Samsung offers a free 25W charger (valued at S$38) with every Galaxy A16 purchase made between November 15 and December 31, 2024.

Whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly smartphone with excellent features or a device with long-term support, the Galaxy A16 series delivers on both fronts.
