Samsung to release One UI 8 for Galaxy S25 series in September

Samsung confirms One UI 8 update for Galaxy S25 in September, with beta access for other Galaxy devices starting this month.

Samsung has confirmed that the official release of its latest software, One UI 8, will begin rolling out to Galaxy S25 series devices in September 2025. The company also announced an extended beta testing programme for a range of its current and previous-generation smartphones, providing users with the opportunity to test the new interface ahead of its public launch.

Beta testing rolls out across key markets

According to an announcement published on Samsung’s official newsroom, the One UI 8 beta programme is already underway and will expand further in the coming weeks. Beginning next week, users of the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6 in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India will be able to enrol in the beta version of the new software.

Samsung stated that additional models will join the beta programme in September 2025. These include the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A54. As with previous betas, interested users will need to register via the Samsung Members app to gain early access to the new operating system.

Public release coming soon for Galaxy S25

Samsung has confirmed that the first official, stable release of One UI 8 will be available to Galaxy S25 series users in September. The final version of the software will incorporate feedback collected during the beta testing period, with Samsung aiming to fine-tune the user experience before the broader rollout.

The company has not provided a specific release date for the stable update, but reassured users that the Galaxy S25 lineup will be the first to receive it. Other eligible devices will follow in a phased release, depending on region and device model.

What to expect from One UI 8

One UI 8 was unveiled alongside Samsung’s newest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. The latest iteration of Samsung’s user interface introduces several enhancements designed to enhance usability and personalisation.

Among the standout features is an upgraded version of the Now Brief and Now Bar, which provides users with streamlined access to real-time updates and controls. Samsung has also enhanced some of its AI-based tools, including improvements to Audio Eraser, a feature that removes unwanted background noise from videos and recordings.

The update continues Samsung’s ongoing effort to integrate more intelligent and user-friendly features into its mobile devices. The company is expected to announce more details about One UI 8’s broader availability and compatible models closer to the full release date.
