Samsung’s One UI 7 beta reveals exciting new AI features

[output_post_excerpt]

Samsung is gearing up to introduce major updates to its Galaxy lineup with the One UI 7 beta, based on Android 15. This next-generation interface promises powerful artificial intelligence (AI) tools and a revamped user experience to make your device smarter and more user-friendly.

AI agents and improved tools

Samsung’s new operating system will feature “AI agents” and multimodal capabilities, enhancing existing Galaxy AI tools. These updates include advanced writing assistance that goes beyond basic spellcheck and formatting. You’ll find integrated tools to summarise, check grammar, and refine documents effortlessly within the system.

The call transcription feature has also been upgraded. You can now enjoy automatic transcriptions in up to 20 languages—29 if you include dialect variations—whenever call recording is activated.

Redesigned interface and camera features

One UI 7 introduces the Now Bar, a Lock Screen tool for quick access to essential apps. You can access key notifications or shortcuts for apps like Samsung Health, Notes, Interpreter, Music, and Maps without the hassle of unlocking your phone.

Samsung’s camera interface has also been completely reworked. Buttons, modes, and controls have been reorganised for simplicity, making it easier to find what you need. Pro and Pro Video modes now offer a cleaner layout, giving you more room for previewing and capturing photos or videos.

Enhanced security features

Security remains a top priority in One UI 7. A new Knox Matrix dashboard allows you to monitor your device’s security status easily. The Maximum Restrictions setting ensures your device won’t automatically reconnect to insecure Wi-Fi networks.

Samsung has also introduced the Safe Install feature for its Auto Blocker tool, which prevents users from accidentally installing harmful apps. Additionally, the Identity Check feature notifies users if their device’s PIN may have been compromised, giving them peace of mind.

The One UI 7 beta programme will be available to Galaxy S24 users in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US starting December 5, 2024. To join, apply through the Samsung Members app.

The beta is unavailable in Singapore, but the full version of One UI 7 is expected to roll out globally in the first quarter of 2025.
