Sharp introduces new Aquos XLED and Aquos Tru Google TVs in Singapore

[output_post_excerpt]

Sharp introduced two exciting new Aquos smart TV models at the recent Sharp Sync Up 2024 regional showcase in Bangkok.

Sharp has expanded its range with the Aquos XLED GU8500, a 2024 model that follows the XLED series first launched in 2023. This new model will be available in both 65-inch and 75-inch screen sizes. However, you will have to wait until around December to get your hands on one, as Sharp has yet to announce the exact pricing details.

In addition, the Aquos Tru GN7000 series has three models with 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch screen sizes. These new TVs boast a 4K display resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. They support HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision IQ. The key difference lies in the display types: the Aquos XLED GU8500 models feature miniLED displays with Deep Chroma QD technology, while the Aquos Tru GN7000 models have LED displays with Deep Chroma Display.

Advanced display and audio technology

The Deep Chroma QD technology in the Aquos XLED GU8500 models includes an additional QD sheet, enhancing the colour purity and contrast for a more vibrant and natural viewing experience. On the other hand, the Aquos Tru GN7000 models use Deep Chroma Display technology, which still delivers impressive colour accuracy.

Both the Aquos Tru GN7000 and the Aquos XLED GU8500 models come equipped with advanced processing power. The GN7000 series features Sharp’s X6 Revelation Processor, which offers intelligent upscaling for richer images and is combined with Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos for an enhanced audio-visual experience. The X6 X-Revelation Processor powers the XLED GU8500 models.

Superior sound and connectivity

The Aquos Tru GN7000 models are equipped with dual 12W speakers that support Dolby Digital+ and Dolby Atmos, ensuring clear and immersive sound. The Aquos XLED GU8500 models take it up a notch with 15W speakers, also supporting Dolby Digital+ and Dolby Atmos.

The Aquos Tru GN7000 series includes Bluetooth 5.1, three HDMI ports (one supporting eARC), USB-A 2.0, and Wi-Fi for connectivity.

Gamers will appreciate ALLM, VRR, and AMD FreeSync Premium support in both TV models, ensuring a smooth and responsive gaming experience.

Pricing and availability

The Sharp Aquos XLED GU8500 will be available in December. Pricing details will be announced closer to the release date.

The Sharp Aquos Tru GN7000 series is available now. The 55-inch model is priced at S$2,127, the 65-inch model at S$2,552, and the 75-inch model at S$3,403. You can purchase these models from Sharp’s online store.
