Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 arrive in Singapore, starting at S$999

Explore the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra's launch in Singapore, with detailed insights on features, pricing, and availability.

If you’ve been eagerly following the latest smartphone developments, the arrival of Xiaomi’s latest offerings in Singapore is bound to excite you. The much-anticipated Xiaomi 14 Ultra, unveiled earlier this year at MWC 2024, alongside its counterpart, the Xiaomi 14, has now released its pricing and availability details for the local market. However, it’s important to note that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will not be available in Singapore.

Advanced technology and performance

Delving into the specifications, the Xiaomi 14 and the 14 Ultra are equipped with the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, ensuring exceptional performance. Unique to these models is their sophisticated cooling technology. The Xiaomi 14 is integrated with Xiaomi’s own Loop LiquidCool system, designed for optimal heat dissipation. The Ultra version enhances this with its Dual-Channel IceLoop liquid cooling system, which includes a particular camera thermal loop, a feature particularly beneficial for extended usage or demanding applications.

Both phones are well-endowed when it comes to battery life. The Xiaomi 14 has a 4,610mAh battery, while the 14 Ultra boasts a larger 5,000mAh battery. Charging is high-speed for both devices, with 90W wired charging capability. Wireless charging speeds are also impressive, with the Xiaomi 14 supporting 50W and the 14 Ultra going up to 80W.

Exceptional camera features

One of the most notable differences between the two models lies in their camera systems. Both phones feature Leica-branded cameras, stemming from a partnership formed in 2022. The Xiaomi 14 sports a three-camera array at the back, comprising a 50MP wide primary camera with a large 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 900 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture, a 50MP floating telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, meanwhile, elevates the photography experience with its quad-camera setup. This includes a 50MP wide primary camera with a unique “step-less” variable aperture, a 50MP floating telephoto camera, a 50MP periscope camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. This advanced camera system allows for unparalleled photography flexibility and quality, catering to casual and serious photographers.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra also reintroduces the Photography Kit with several new enhancements. These include a customisable dial for adjusting camera settings, a dedicated video recording button, and an extra 24% battery life provided by a built-in 1,500mAh battery in the grip.

Innovative operating system

Both the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra will run Xiaomi’s new operating interface, HyperOS. This interface promises to offer an improved user experience and potentially change users’ interactions with their devices.

Availability and pricing in Singapore

As for availability, the Xiaomi 14 will be available in stores starting from March 9, 2024, at authorised Xiaomi stores, partner stores, and Xiaomi’s official Shopee store. The more advanced Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be available from March 23. Keep an eye out for pre-order promotions, and choose from a selection of colours to suit your style.

The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra launch in Singapore marks an exciting time for smartphone enthusiasts. With their state-of-the-art features, these devices are set to cater to a wide array of needs, whether for photography, gaming, or simply as dependable everyday smartphones.
