Dubai tech hub to spotlight innovation and start-up success at GITEX Asia debut in Singapore

Dubai Internet City will showcase its tech success and start-up ecosystem at GITEX Asia in Singapore from 23 to 25 April 2025.

Dubai Internet City, one of the Middle East’s most prominent technology hubs, is set to represent the UAE’s digital economy at the inaugural GITEX Asia, held from 23 to 25 April at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The initiative is part of a broader delegation led by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and underscores Dubai’s push to strengthen its role in the global tech landscape.

As part of TECOM Group PJSC, Dubai Internet City will join the event to showcase the growth and innovation of its thriving tech ecosystem. Since its founding in 1999, the district has been instrumental in driving digital transformation in the region. According to the Dubai Internet City – Impact Assessment study, released in partnership with Accenture this February, the district now accounts for 65% of Dubai’s technology sector GDP and has supported the creation of more than 125,000 jobs.

Celebrating 25 years of enabling digital growth

Marking its 25th anniversary this year, Dubai Internet City has contributed over AED 100 billion to Dubai’s GDP in the past 15 years. Its participation in GITEX Asia reinforces its ongoing efforts to attract global partnerships, support entrepreneurship, and expand its influence as an internationally recognised technology hub.

“Digital transformation thrives through collaboration with global technology policymakers and industry leaders, and GITEX Asia is a springboard to showcase the robust fundamentals of Dubai’s world-class digital economy to international peers and partners,” said Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City.

He added, “We look forward to showcasing the transformative potential of Dubai Internet City’s ecosystem and fostering partnerships that will shape the future of the technology sector, strengthening Dubai’s and the UAE’s position as a preferred global destination for business, investment, and innovation, in line with the visionary Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the UAE Digital Economy Strategy.”

Spotlight on leading firms and emerging start-ups

At the Dubai stand (HB-C80, Hall B), Dubai Internet City will showcase success stories from a dynamic community of over 4,000 companies. These include global heavyweights such as IBM, Google, Microsoft, and a range of high-growth start-ups. The district is also home to 19 innovation and research centres operated by global names including 3M, HP, Ericsson, and Cisco.

Joining the event is in5, TECOM Group’s start-up incubator launched in 2013. in5 has supported over 1,000 ventures across sectors including tech, media, design, and science. Its inclusion reflects Dubai Internet City’s commitment to nurturing innovation from early-stage ideas to enterprise-level growth.

Expanding Dubai’s global business footprint

Dubai Internet City and in5 are part of TECOM Group’s wider portfolio of business districts and services, which include Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Production City, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Science Park, Dubai Industrial City, and Dubai Design District (d3). Their presence at GITEX Asia aims to highlight how Dubai continues to attract global investors and entrepreneurs by offering a competitive and future-ready business environment.

By participating in GITEX Asia, Dubai Internet City not only marks a significant milestone in its growth journey but also strengthens Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of global innovation and enterprise.
